With the wide application of smart devices,such as mobile phones,computers,tablets and smart watches,users gradually tend to use multiple devices to search daily information.Therefore,cross-screen information seeking has become a trend.Under the background that users’ cross-screen behavior is becoming more and more obvious,this study takes college students’ cross-screen behavior as the starting point,investigates the situation,cross-screen realization path and motivation of college students’ cross-screen behavior in information seeking,constructs a theoretical model,analyzes the characteristics of that,and depicts the cross-screen picture of college students’ information seeking in an all-round and three-dimensional way.Firstly,the dissertation introduces the background and significance of this topic,research methods and contents,as well as the possible innovations of this thesis.Secondly,it summarizes the academic literature related to the theme of “information seeking” and “cross-screen behavior” at home and abroad,in order to find the shortcomings of the current research on cross-screen behavior in information seeking,so as to lead to the research ideas and value of this dissertation.In the implementation of the dissertation,it takes Chinese college students as the research object,uses the questionnaire survey method to briefly understand the basic situation of college students’ cross-screen behavior in information seeking,and analyzes the ownership of equipment,the realization path of cross-screen,the causes and the impact of cross-screen behavior in information seeking on college students.Thirdly,this study uses the in-depth interview method and structural log method to investigate the cross-screen behavior of college students in information seeking,uses the grounded theory to encode the obtained data,constructs an influencing factor model,and analyzes the basic characteristics of college students’ cross-screen behavior in information seeking.At the end of the research,this dissertation proposes to improve college students’ cognition of cross-screen behavior in information seeking,improve college students’ cross-screen ability of information seeking,and effectively carry out cross-screen information seeking for the required information combined with device,individual,context,information and other factors.Researchers and information service providers should understand the “context view” and “user view” of cross-screen behavior,and provide personalized information services for users under the guidance of context;Information servers should also pay attention to the future development direction of cross-screen cooperation,break the cross-screen barriers between different brands and improve users’ experience and satisfaction.
