At present,with the development of science and technology and the progress of society,the utility of education is becoming more and more obvious.Parents and schools only pay attention to students’ learning and only pay attention to students’ cultural course performance,which makes labor education irrelevant to academic performance continuously weakened and marginalized in school education.In this educational context,students lack the opportunity to work in person,which is not only difficult to form a correct concept of labor,but also can not get the cultivation of labor habits and the improvement of labor skills,which will eventually be detrimental to their healthy growth and development.Rousseau is a famous educator and thinker.He wrote a lot in his life and made great contributions to many fields.Especially in the field of education,many of his views are of epoch-making significance in the history of western education.In Emil,Rousseau expressed his profound and unique views on education and led the direction of modern development of western education.In particular,Rousseau thought a lot about labor education in his book,and Rousseau’s discussion on labor has many bright spots.Rousseau attaches great importance to labor education for students.Rousseau is aware of the unique educational significance and important value of labor.Therefore,at the moment of weakening labor education,Rousseau’s labor education thought is worthy of our in-depth discussion and research,and seeks theoretical support and experience for the development of our modern labor education.This paper mainly adopts the literature research method.On the basis of reading the original works and consulting the existing literature,this paper systematically combs the background and system of Rousseau’s labor education thought,and then puts forward some feasible suggestions for school labor education in our country.From the perspective of Rousseau’s reflection on modernity,this paper can better see Rousseau’s position and characteristics of labor education,which is an innovation of this paper.This paper is divided into three parts.The first part mainly introduces the background of Rousseau’s labor education thought.On the one hand,it introduces Rousseau’s growth process,the background of the times and Rousseau’s personal theoretical basis of attaching importance to labor,which is an important background for the formation of Rousseau’s labor education thought;On the other hand,it introduces Rousseau’s reflection on modernity,which is the deep-seated background of Rousseau’s proposal to pay attention to labor.Through the reflection on the modernity of Locke’s labor education,it highlights the simplicity of Rousseau’s labor education and pays more attention to the educational value behind labor.The second part mainly summarizes and analyzes Rousseau’s labor education ideological system systematically,mainly including Rousseau’s labor view and the specific implementation of Rousseau’s labor education.The specific implementation of labor education is divided into the purpose,content and principle of implementation.The third part analyzes the positive influence and historical limitations of Rousseau’s labor education thought,and puts forward the Enlightenment of Rousseau’s labor education thought to our modern labor education.
