According to The Compulsory Education English Curriculum Standard(2011),the goal of English teaching is to cultivate students’ comprehensive language using ability,that is,language skills,language knowledge,emotional attitudes,learning strategies and cultural awareness.However,the current traditional English teaching methods cannot achieve this goal,so many teachers bring project-based teaching method into English classrooms,aiming to stimulate students’ interest in learning English and cultivate students’ all-round development.Meanwhile,as an important factor affecting English learning,English learning motivation has been widely concerned by researchers at home and abroad.At present,dynamic feature has become a heated topic in English learning motivation area.Theoretically supported by Dynamic Systems Theory and Multiple Intelligences theory,this research is innovative on the basis of previous research on project teaching and English learning motivation.There are three research questions:(1)What are the features of the changes of English learning motivation of junior high school students under the project-based teaching mode?(2)Under this mode,what are the factors that affect the changes of English learning motivation of junior high school students?(3)Under this mode,how can teachers stimulate and enhance junior high students’ English learning motivation effectively?This research selects four students from a general class in the first grade of Shenyang No.43 junior high school as the research objects.This research uses the tools of motometer,classroom observation and interview to collect data and analyze the changes of junior high students’ English learning motivation under the project-based teaching mode,the factors affecting the changes and methods of enhancing English learning motivation under this mode.Finally,the following conclusions are drawn: Firstly,under the project-based teaching mode,the English learning motivation of junior high students is in the process of real-time change which has the features of dynamics,stability,individual similarities and differences.Secondly,under this mode,the factors that affect the change mainly include three aspects: teacher factors,classroom environment,and student factors.Thirdly,under this mode,teachers can create positive learning situations,organize rich and colorful classroom activities and choose various assessment methods to enhance students’ English learning motivation.Based on the above conclusions,this research points out that teachers should pay more attention to the changes of students’ in-class learning motivation and master the project teaching method proficiently,so as to maintain the English learning motivation of junior high students at a high level.At the same time,teachers should also realize the individual differences of students and teach them in accordance with their aptitude.
