| History is a human-based history.Modern history section,as one part of high school history textbooks,involves a large number of historical figures.There is a big gap between the new State-compiled textbook and the PEP edition(Peoples Education Press)textbook used in the past,so the comparison between the two versions of the textbook has become the focus of current research.However,as the new textbook has been released for a relatively short period of time,there is still a need to fill in the research on the reasons and characteristics of the changes of historical figures in modern history section,especially in terms of teaching response strategies.Based on the above considerations,this paper selects two versions of history textbooks at the senior secondary level,i.e.,The State-compiled edition and the PEP edition;we lengthways hackles the changes in the writing of modern Chinese history figures between the two editions,studies carefully on these figures,with a view to making suggestions for the application of the current State-compiled edition textbooks and helping secondary school history teachers to make better use of the new edition textbooks in their teaching.This paper first analyses and compares the characters of modern Chinese history in the two editions in terms of comparative standards,character selection,character types,character distribution,and character descriptions,and examines the changes in the selection and writing of historical characters.Secondly,based on the analysis of the changes in modern historical figures in the textbooks,we further investigated the teaching status of modern Chinese historical figures in the senior high schools.We find some deficiencies and problems of showing historical figures in the new edition textbooks,such as one fold historical figure,insufficient characters deeds,and inherent impressions that limit teaching.By causality,we explores the causes of the problems.Finally,based on the above research and combining with the analysis of changes in modern Chinese history figures in the two versions as well as the current teaching situation of applied textbooks in high schools,we put forward operational suggestions for improving the current history teaching.Teachers should build on their own professional competence,expand historical figure materials appropriately on the basis of the rational use of textbooks,revitalize historical figures,and make up for the shortcomings of teaching historical figures.Textbooks are the basis of teachers’ teaching.This study compares different versions of textbooks,which can help teachers understand the characters in textbooks to a certain extent and improve the teaching level of modern Chinese history characters. |
