The employment of Tibetan college students is not only an important part of the employment of college graduates in China, but also a matter of social and economic development and ethnic unity in ethnic areas. In recent years, the governments of Tibetan regions have repeatedly issued relevant policies to encourage Tibetan college students to find jobs in the mainland, which shows that the employment capacity of the governments of Tibetan regions has been saturated.According to relevant surveys,Tibetan college students prefer to get employment within the system, and the employment rate of returning home has been relatively high for many years, and they seldom go to the mainland to participate in the market employment. If this goes on in the long run,it will be unfavorable to the rational utilization and balanced distribution of talents in the Tibetan area, and further unfavorable to the social and economic development in the Tibetan area.By combining quantitative research and qualitative research, this paper investigates the distribution and characteristics of the employment intention of Tibetan college students in Chinese mainland, explores the influencing factors, and then puts forward some countermeasures.Quantitative research level, the use of the Tibetan college students’ cross-cultural social adaptation scale,investigating203 mainland Tibetan college students attending, and USES the description statistics, single sample t-test,independent sample T test, single factor analysis of variance, correlation analysis, regression analysis and other statistical methods to analyze data, the study found that:(1)The score of intercultural social adaptation of Tibetan college students is 3.51±0.40.The score of learning adaptation was3.82±0.61 in each dimension.Future adaptation score was 3.88±0.79;Future adaptation score was 3.20±0.75;Psychological adaptation score was 3.27±0.51;The score of interpersonal adaptation was 3.29±0.50.The single sample t-test shows that all dimensions are significantly higher than the theoretical median value, indicating that Tibetan college students have good intercultural social adaptation.(2)Tibetan college students’ intercultural social adaptation is affected by five demographic variables: gender, grade, family residence, school level, and whether they are the only child or not.Specifically, women are significantly lower than men in psychological adaptation, and significantly lower than men in future adaptation.Postgraduate students are significantly higher than second-year undergraduates in environmental and psychological adaptation. The study adaptation and future adaptation of engineering majors are significantly higher than that of liberal arts majors. The interpersonal adaptation of Tibetan college students whose family residence is urban is significantly higher than that of other types of Tibetan college students. The psychological adaptation and environmental adaptation of Tibetan college students in double first-rate universities are significantly higher than those in non-double first-rate universities.Non-only-child is significantly higher than only-child in psychological adaptation and environmental adaptation.(3)Tibetan college students’ desire to find jobs is concentrated in their hometown and nearby cities, with a proportion of 74.9%;The occupation tendency was concentrated in civil servants and public institutions, accounting for 88.7 percent.(4)The willingness of Tibetan college students to return home for employment is affected by multiple demographic variables.Specifically, women are more willing to return home for employment than men.Tibetan college students who have served as student cadres are less willing to return home for employment than those who have no experience of student cadres.Party members and Tibetan college students are less willing to return home for employment than non-Party members. The score ranking is negatively correlated with the intention of returning home for employment;Only children are more likely to return home.(5)There is a significant correlation between intercultural social adaptation of Tibetan college students and their intention to return home for employment(P < 0.01),and the correlation coefficient of point two column is-0.399,reaching a moderate correlation level; The regression analysis results showed that the intercultural social adaptation of Tibetan college students had a significant negative predictive effect on the intention to return home for employment(B=-2.95,P < 0.001).On the basis of the quantitative research,in order to further explore the internal correlation between the intercultural social adaptation of Tibetan college students and their intention to return home for employment, this paper selected 10 Tibetan college students as the interviewees, and through the semi-structured interview,in-depth understanding of the intercultural social adaptation of Tibetan college students and the current situation of their intention to work. This paper sorts out the main problems existing in various dimensions of intercultural social adaptation of Tibetan college students, analyzes the current policy background of Tibetan college students’ employment and the current situation of talent supply and demand in Tibetan areas, and summarizes three characteristics of the current intention of Tibetan college students to return home for employment: 1.The willingness to return home is high;2.Excessive employment willingness in the system;3.Weak entrepreneurial intention. This paper analyzes the reasons why the current employment intention of Tibetan college students presents these characteristics from two aspects of subject and object. Finally, the relationship between the interaction and reaction between the intercultural social adaptation of Tibetan college students and their intention to return home for employment is expounded.Combining quantitative research and qualitative research findings, this paper puts forward countermeasures to guide Tibetan college students to return home for employment moderately from two aspects: improving the cross-cultural social adaptation of Tibetan college students and strengthening employment policy guidance.
