| The 21st century is a century of life science,so training talents in the field of life science and biotechnology is a strategic choice for our country to win the future competition.The biology competition in senior high school is one of the important ways to excavate,select and train biotechnology talents.Up to now,it has been developed for 30 years and has been recognized and strongly supported by most schools,teachers,students and parents,but it has also been debated and questioned by people,which shows that there are some problems in the biology competition at the present stage and need to be constantly improved.Therefore,through the investigation of teachers,students and parents,the author hopes to present the general current situation of biology competition in senior high school,find out some problems existing in it,and put forward corresponding improvement strategies,so as to promote the development of biology competition education for middle school students.This study comprehensively uses the methods of literature research,questionnaire research and test paper analysis to sort out the development process of biology competition and the current research situation at home and abroad.Five regions that have won prizes in the biology competition in the past two years were selected to investigate the current learning situation of the students participating in the biology competition in senior high school,the teaching situation of tutors and the influence of the competition on students,teachers and families.The connotation of PISA2015 scientific literacy is introduced and combined with the actual situation,the examination questions of National Middle School students’ Biological League from 2016 to 2020 are analyzed.On this basis,this paper discusses the strategies to promote the education of biology competition in senior high school.The results are as follows:1.The main problems existing in the current biology competition education in senior high school;(1)Teachers,students and parents generally have a low understanding of the purpose,significance,rules and procedures of biology competition;(2)There are some problems in students’ learning habits or methods in the process of learning;(3)Most of the participating students have not received practical training in the experiment,and there are few available resources for experimental learning;(4)Teachers’ professional literacy(the use of professional knowledge system,teaching methods or strategies,etc.)need to be further improved;(5)Teachers generally think that the guidance of the theoretical part is more important than the experimental part,spend less time and energy on experimental teaching,and do not attach importance to experimental teaching.2.The characteristics of league examination questions based on PISA2015 scientific literacy:most of the questions do not create scientific situations,mainly to examine cognitive knowledge and students’ ability to explain phenomena scientifically,but not enough to examine procedural knowledge,students’ evaluation and design scientific inquiry ability.3.Discussion on the strategies of improving and perfecting biology competition education:(1)The examination questions should be based on the investigation of the depth of knowledge,supplemented by breadth,and pay attention to the evaluation of students’ scientific literacy;(2)In the aspect of competition guidance,the competition committee or leaders,schools,students and parents form a linkage whole to improve the effectiveness of tutoring teaching and promote the development of students. |
