Abstract/Summary:
Socioscientific Issues(SSI)are open and controversial social issues that are substantively related to science.They are controversial,contemporary,interdisciplinary,affective,and complex.SSI teaching is a kind of scientific teaching method which takes SSI as teaching situation or teaching content.The implementation of SSI teaching is of great value in cultivating students’ argumentation ability,moral and ethical concepts,and implementing the core literacy of biology.In recent years,SSI has gradually become a hot topic in the field of science education research in China,but generally speaking,the research on SSI in China is still at the beginning stage,and the research direction and quantity of SSI education research needs to be further enriched.This article adopts research methods such as literature review,case analysis,and comparative research method.This paper analyzes the characteristics and differences of SSI teaching at home and abroad,enriches and improves the localization research of SSI teaching in China.By designing teaching cases of SSI teaching,it provides teachers with intuitive reference and lays the foundation for the further promotion of SSI teaching.The main parts of the paper are as follows:The first chapter is the introduction,which clarifies the background of the research,puts forward the research purpose and significance,research content and technical route,and research methods.The second chapter is the theoretical overview.Firstly,it summarizes the origin,characteristics,classification and thinking mode of problem solving of SSI;secondly,it sorts out SSI teaching research,clarifies the theoretical basis,educational value and research status of SSI teaching at home and abroad,and provides theoretical support for the development of SSI teaching.The third chapter is the case analysis of SSI teaching.According to the research purpose,the standard for selecting teaching cases is formulated,and the high school biology SSI teaching cases at home and abroad are screened.According to the designed teaching case analysis dimensions,the general characteristics of the domestic and foreign SSI teaching cases are analyzed from the perspective of teacher teaching,and the science is analyzed.The difference between the logical mode and the scientific narrative mode of teaching cases.Subsequently,the similarities and differences of SSI teaching at home and abroad were compared to understand the current situation of SSI teaching practice at home and abroad.The fourth chapter is the localization design of SSI teaching.On the basis of the above theoretical research and case analysis results,the corresponding countermeasures are put forward:summarize the way to implement the core literacy of biology in SSI teaching,excavate the topic related points in biology textbooks to integrate SSI into biology teaching,find the topics with China’s regional characteristics to promote the discussion of SSI in teaching,and further improve the teaching strategies to adapt to the characteristics of Chinese learners.Finally,I design cases and develop corresponding teaching resources on the topic of "COVID-19 pandemic" and "Procapra przewalskii’s protection" to reflect the localization strategy proposed in the previous article and provide reference for teachers’ teaching.The fifth chapter is the summary,reflection and prospect of the whole research.
