Purpose:To research the effects of traditional barbell, pneumatic resistance training and velocity-based training(VBT)on post-activation potentiation(VBT)under two different loads. Methods:Twelve well-trained male college subjects were recruited. After 5 minutes of jogging and 15 minutes of dynamic stretching, the test was carried out on the force plate with countermovement jump(CMJ)before conditioning activity. After 3-minute rest, the three induction methods were used to activate PAP with back-squat under 75%1RM and 85%1RM load.At both loads, subjects performed 3 sets of 2 repetitions with 1 min of rest between sets. After the conditioning activity, subjects completed a CMJ on a force plate at 3-,6-,9-,and 12-min.CMJ and mean power were used as the indexes of PAP effect.Two-way repeated measure ANOVA was used to compare the PAP effects of the three induction methods at different times and under different loads.Experiments with different induction methods and different loads were arranged at different days, and the interval of each test was 48 hours. Results:For CMJ,under 75%load,the performance of pneumatic resistance training and VBT groups were increased at 6 min(P<0.05);Under 85%load,the performance of barbell group was increased at 6 min and 9 min(P<0.05),and the pneumatic resistance training group was increased at 3 min and 6 min(P<0.05),and the VBT group was significantly increased at 6 min(P<0.01).There was no statistical difference among the three induction methods(P>0.05),and no statistical difference between different loads under the same induction method(P>0.05).For mean power, the performance of VBT group was significantly increased at 6min under 75%load(P<0.01).Traditional barbell, pneumatic resistance training and VBT group were increased at 9 min(P<0.05).Under 85%load at 6 min,the performance of pneumatic resistance training group was increased(P<0.05),and the performance of VBT group was significantly increased(P<0.01);At 9 min,the performance of barbell and pneumatic resistance training groups were increased(P<0.05);There was no statistical difference among the three induction methods(P>0.05),and no statistical difference between different loads under the same induction method(P>0.05)Conclusion:(1)The optimal time for PAP effect is 6-9 minutes;(2)PAP effect is a physiological phenomenon which can be induced as long as it reaches a certain conditioning intensity and volume,no matter which induction methods being adopted.
