Research On The Discourse Of Female Sports Commentators In CCTV-5

The professionalism,morphological characteristics,and especially the language characteristics of the commentators have a great impact on the audience watching the program.Female sports commentators have a very different way of thinking and language characteristics from men,which makes the communication effect of their event commentary different.However,for historical and social reasons,even though female sports commentators are as good as male commentators in the field of sports commentary,they still occupy a relatively small proportion in the field of sports commentary,female sports commentators on CCTV-5 have gone through a budding and developing period,with more and more women joining the sports commentary team as female sports commentators.In order to better investigate the linguistic characteristics of female sports commentary,this paper takes female sports commentators of CCTV-5 as the researchobject,adopts literature method and case study method,and uses discourse semantic frame theory to analyze the linguistic characteristics presented by female commentators in discourse narratives;the research is carried out according to two aspects:event frame and evaluation frame.It was found that:female sports event narrators mainly used evaluative descriptive statements in their narration,supplemented by rhetorical modifications,and often used tactical statements;at the same time,they paid much attention to background introduction and left more white space in their narration;female sports narrators were more inclined to use psychological events and relational events.The most common commentary frames in commentary are appreciation and emotion,and female sports commentators pay more attention to emotional expressions in their commentary frames;the rhyme pattern of total division and step-by-step reinforcement is usually used in commentary,which fully prepares for the expression of event results and maximally demonstrates the evaluation function of discourse.Based on the analysis of the linguistic characteristics of female sports commentators,this paper puts forward the objective problems of female sports commentators in commentary and,at the same time,makes suggestions for the continuous improvement of their linguistic art,so that the style characteristics of China’s sports event commentary can be more diversified and meet the diverse commentary needs of audiences.
