A Research Of The Campaign Of Publicizing And Implementing The Marriage Law In Hubei Province In The Early Period Of The People’s Republic Of China

The first law of the People ’s Republic of China,the Marriage Law of the People ’s Republic of China,established the marriage system of freedom of marriage,monogamy and equal rights between men and women,which is a great milestone in the cause of women ’s liberation.However,under the complex social background in the early days of the founding of New China,the establishment of the new democratic marriage system was not achieved overnight.To this end,the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China has repeatedly issued instructions,requiring party committees at all levels to promote the publicity and implementation of the marriage law in an organized and planned manner to ensure that the concept of the new marriage law becomes the actual order of people ’s new life.Following the instructions of the central government,Hubei Province has carried out a campaign to publicize and implement the marriage law throughout the province.From the promulgation of the marriage law in 1950 to the end of the month of propaganda and implementation of the marriage law in April 1953,this movement can be roughly divided into three stages : the initial stage of propaganda and implementation of the marriage law,the inspection stage of the implementation of the marriage law,and the centralized propaganda and implementation stage of the marriage law.In the face of the ideological confusion of cadres and the masses and the inaction of the judicial department in the movement,Hubei Province adheres to the propaganda and education policy of cadres before the masses,the propaganda strategy of combining the propaganda of the marriage law with the judicial practice,gradually improves the ideological understanding of cadres and the masses,solves the marriage dispute cases,resolves the social conflicts and contradictions brought about by the reform of the marriage system,and steadily promotes the propaganda and implementation of the marriage law movement.After three years of efforts,Hubei Province promote the implementation of the marriage law campaign has achieved remarkable results.The feudal marriage system was destroyed,and the new democratic marriage system was gradually established in Hubei society.While safeguarding women ’s rights and interests and improving family relations,the new marriage system has mobilized women ’s production enthusiasm and promoted the production and construction of Hubei Province.The masses gradually increased their sense of identity with New China.However,due to the frequent movements in the early days of the founding of New China,the marriage law movement had to give way to other movements,resulting in imbalances and surprises in the promotion and implementation of the marriage law,and the death of marriage.This shows that completely break the traditional marriage...
