A Comparative Study Of Lenin And Gramsci’s Views On Ideological Leadership

Thoughts of leadership have always been highly concerned by scholars and politicians globally.Undoubtedly,the thought of proletariat leadership has evolved into the central theme of Marxist theoretical investigation.The concept of "ideology" is mainly regarded as a negative existence in the theories of Marx and Engels.Marxists,however,came to understand the vital and decisive significance of their theory as it was continuously developed and used in practice.As outstanding Marxists,Lenin and Gramsci both emphasize the significance of ideological leadership throughout their revolutionary practice and theoretical research.After a series of revolutionary practices,the thoughts of ideological leadership with different emphases were produced respectively.The theoretical connotations of their ideas can also give greater insight into the construction and development of ideological leadership in China.This paper is guided by the basic principles of Marxism,based on the social conditions of Russia and Italy in the context of Lenin’s and Gramsci’s times,and employs research methods such as documentary research,comparative analysis,and linking theory to practice to conduct a more systematic comparative study of Lenin’s and Gramsci’s ideological leadership thoughts.This paper divides into five parts.The first part discusses the realistic conditions for the genesis of their thoughts in the context of the times they are located.The second part compares the theoretical sources of Lenin and Gramsci.The third part explores the substantive connotations of Lenin and Gramsci’s ideological leadership from the perspective of their values.The fourth part examines the subjects and strategies for realizing ideological leadership from the perspective of comparing practical paths.Through the analysis and comparative study of the above four aspects,the fifth aspect explores the contemporary revelations of the comparative study of Lenin and Gramsci’s ideological leadership.The theoretical revelations include the following three points:First of all,to reaffirm the guiding position of Marxist theory;Secondly,to indicate the theoretical direction for establishing cultural confidence;Thirdly,to consolidate the Party’s leadership over ideology;Then,to build the Party’s intellectual workforce;Lastly,to implement the central position of the people.In the context of the new era,it is of great significance to continuously deepen the construction of ideological leadership through comparative analysis and research to win the public opinion war initiated by the West and achieve the goal of building China into a country with a strong socialist culture.
