Anna Louis Strong’s View Of The Communist Party Of China

Anna Louise Strong,a famous American female journalist and writer,came to China six times from 1925 to 1970 and spent her late years in China.During her several visits to China,Strong witnessed many major events in China’s development and transformation.At that time,China was in a period of revolutionary turmoil.Strong made in-depth observation and analysis of China’s social life,which formed his understanding of the political,economic,cultural,social and other aspects of the CPC.He gave full play to his professionalism as a journalist,interviewed many leaders and people of the CPC,and recorded the real situation of the Chinese revolution in words.First of all,this paper expounds the early experience of Strong and his six trips to China.Through analyzing the background of his time,his early experience and ideas,as well as the indissoluble bond between several visits to China and China,we can grasp the foundation of the formation of Strong’s view of the CPC from a macro perspective.Secondly,this paper expounds the main contents of Strong’s view of the CPC from four aspects: ideal and belief,social system,economic policy,and the characteristics of CPC people.Thirdly,this paper expounds the similarities and differences between Strong and other western left-wing journalists on the view of the CPC,and further discusses the uniqueness of Strong’s CPC from the personal level.Finally,this paper expounds the historical significance and era value of Strong’s view of the CPC.During his stay in China,Strong wrote a lot of reports and many books about China,recorded the true situation about the CPC,and published her reports and books around the world,greatly improving the world’s understanding of the Communist Party of China,and also building a bridge between the Chinese and American people.In addition,the in-depth study of Strong’s view of the CPC also provides an overseas perspective for the study of the history of the Communist Party of China,and provides historical experience for shaping the international image of the CPC.
