The Belt and Road Initiative is an international public service platform proposed by the Chinese government to strengthen regional infrastructure connectivity and promote regional economic cooperation and development, with the "ancient Silk Road" as a historical and cultural symbol, based on the time and space background of the slow recovery of global economy and rising trade protectionism in the post-financial crisis era.the Belt and Road Initiative has received positive reactions from most countries and international organizations since it was put forward. As an important neighbor to the southwest of China,India has a splendid ancient civilization and a tragic history of modern colonization.Since its independence, with its large population and huge resources,India has gradually become a major force on the international diplomatic stage today. As the two major representatives of the Eastern civilization of mankind,China and India have jointly created a model of peaceful cultural exchanges between major countries for thousands of years.Since modern times, the two peoples have supported each other, each got rid of colonialism, and realized the transformation into a modern sovereign country. The relations between the two countries also experienced brotherly friendship in the 1950 s,and later turned to conflict and confrontation due to the boundary dispute and other issues left over from history.Until the normalization of relations in the 1980 s,the general peace fluctuated.Since the Belt and Road Initiative was put forward,it has brought some new changes to the relations between China and India. How to maintain the stability of the strategic relations between China and India and promote the cooperation and development of the relations between the two countries in the future is a subject of great theoretical significance and practical value.Guided by Marxist theory of international relations and supported by Marxist basic principles and methods, this paper analyzes China-India relations under the background of "One Belt and One Road".Firstly,it expounds the context and policy connotation of the "One Belt and One Road" Initiative. Then, according to the geographical location and regional leadership of India where land and sea meet,The core geostrategic impact factor role it plays in the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative has been clarified. Then,it analyzes and shows three basic cognition of India’s support for the "One Belt,One Road" initiative at the present stage, hedging against hostility and cautious choice, and further expounds the diplomatic countermeasures taken by India under the background of negative cognition, which is "strategic hedging as the main, cautious choice as the secondary".Then the paper discusses the complex causal logic behind India’s negative attitude towards the "Belt and Road" Initiative, and believes that it is the opposition to the "China-Pakistan Economic Corridor" and the long-term historical and practical structural contradictions between China and India that constitute the surface reason and the deep motivation of India’s negative cognition and response to the "Belt and Road" initiative. Finally, based on the regional implementation rules of the "Belt and Road" initiative and the motivation analysis above, some thoughts and measures are put forward to promote the development and improvement of China-India relations under the background of the "Belt and Road" Initiative. In addition, based on the great changes that have not been seen in a century, such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine conflict, positive prospects are put forward for the positive transformation of China-India relations in the future.
