The university museums have accelerated development since the 18thNational Congress of CPC in 2012.The university museums have become important places for universities to carry out inquiry learning,participatory teaching,and practical teaching.The university museums have played a vital role in the development and improvement of universities education courses.The construction and development of university museums depend on staff with innovative ideas,responsibility,and Ability.The competency of staff in university museums determines their development.Many problems have arisen in the team of university staff,embodying poor specialization,weak management,and few innovative ideas.Without systematic approaches and regulations for the management of university museum staff,their recruitment and training should be cautious treated since the reduced authorized strength and enhanced requirements for them.As a result,the competency model should be introduced to the recruitment,assessment,and cultivation of university museum staff,in order to enhance their competency and accelerate the development for university museums.The theoretical basis of the paper is the crucial statement of Xi Jinping,competency theory,and person position matching theory.Taking the university museums staff as an object,the paper has collected 26 competency words by expert questionnaires,surveys for university museums staff,and literature review.The paper designs the competency vocabulary of University museum staff questionnaire and establishes a competency model by analyzing the data with SPSS26.0.The competency model has four dimensions:“ideological and political quality”“professional knowledge”“ability to perform their duties”“personality characteristics”,which involving 24 elements.Based on the competency model,the paper develops a Competency Scale of university museum staff.Empirical research on museum staff in 30 universities is carried out to investigate their competency and summarize the reasons for their incompetency.In order to improve the competency of university museum staff,the paper has put forward suggestions from four aspects.In the recruitment process,the employing unit should Strategies for multi-dimensional setting of post conditions,strengthening the consideration of competence and strict entry management;in the training aspect,the employing unit should strengthen the pertinence of training,enriching training paths and paying attention to recessive quality training;in the assessment aspect,the employing unit should have a fair standard,scientific method,and strengthen implicit assessment;in the self-improvement aspect,the staff should enhance their internal drive,find out the deficiency of competency and improve competency by study and practice. |
