Research On The Construction Of Harmonious Ethnic Relationships In The Ethnic Group Mosaic Communities

With the accelerating urbanization and the implementation of the poverty alleviation relocation policy,a large number of minority populations have moved to their new homes at multi-ethnic communities in cities and towns.Due to the late start of community work research in China,although there are certain research results,the practice of community work is not much and the ethnic work in multi-ethnic communities is particularly prominent.Compared with the general community,Five Peace Homeland,the multi-ethnic community,has its own unique culture and diversity,which are more challenging compared to the general community work.Because of the special characteristics of Five Peace Homeland,it also enlightens the study of building harmonious ethnic relationships in ethnic group mosaic communities.Using empirical methods,this paper investigates the ethnic relations in Five Peace Homeland,a community of five ethnic groups living in Yingjiang,Yunnan Province.Combining quantitative and qualitative research methods,it compares the characteristics of ethnic relations in Five Peace Homeland,an ethnic group mosaic community and proposes reflections on the mosaic social structure for the construction of harmonious ethnic relations.In this study,the content of ethnic relations in multi-ethnic communities are firstly defined and clarify the necessity and importance of constructing harmonious ethnic relations.Secondly,the basic information of Five Peace Homeland,geography,population and ethnic composition,are represented.Then,by referring to Professor Ma Rong’s variable indexes of ethnic relationships measurement,based on the current situation of Five Peace Homeland,this paper makes an empirical analysis of the current situation of harmonious ethnic relationships in Five Peace Homeland from six aspects,such as language use,living pattern,ethnic intermarriage,friendship,ethnic psychology,thus exploring the mosaic relationships among space,psychology,etc.Finally,this thesis analyzes the causes of constructing harmonious ethnic relationships in Five Peace Homeland,summarizes and reflects on the practice of constructing harmonious ethnic relationships in Five Peace Homeland.The formation of the ethnic group mosaic community of Five Peace Homeland is the result based on policy,culture,region,mass consciousness and other aspects.This formation mechanism of harmonious ethnic relationships has important meanings for strengthening the communication and integration among all ethnic groups and promoting ethnic unity under the background of consolidating the sense of community for the Chinese nation.
