Research On Marx’s Thought Of Rural Spatial Justice

As an objective existence,space runs through the whole process of human society.In his exposition of the relationship between urban and rural areas in capitalist society,Marx showed rich ideas of rural spatial justice.Marx pointed out that the rise of capitalism is accompanied by the expansion of geographical space,the marginal rural space becomes the reservoir of raw materials and labor,the countryside becomes the object of exploitation,and the imbalance between urban and rural areas intensifies.Space is not only the carrier of people’s production and life,but also the source of inequality between people and classes in capitalist society.In the primitive accumulation stage of capitalism,capitalists took the way of enclosure movement.The land of farmers was plundered by capitalists,and the ownership and use right of land were occupied,which led to the separation of farmers and land.A large number of farmers who lost land had to move to cities to seek new living space.After entering the industrial society,the city has become the center of social production,the gathering place of population and production tools,and the pronoun of advanced productive forces and modern civilization.In the process of urbanization,the capitalist mode of production continues to spread to the countryside.Rural production and farmers’ life must be subject to the needs of capital proliferation.At the same time,the countryside has become the sales market of industrial products,and the countryside has gradually become the vassal space of the city.In the capitalist society,the development of the city has brought a huge blow to the countryside,seriously damaged the natural space,social space and spiritual space of the countryside,and the injustice of rural space is becoming more and more serious.One of the focuses of Marx’s criticism of capitalism is the plunder of rural space in the process of urban development.Capitalist mode of production makes the city win over the countryside and make the countryside submit to the rule of the city.The contradiction between urban and rural areas is becoming more and more serious due to the influence of capitalist private ownership,which has a huge negative effect on social development and human development.Therefore,in Marx’s view,the injustice of rural space must be eliminated,and it will be eliminated.With the continuous development of science and technology and the continuous improvement of social productivity,rural spatial justice will eventually be realized.It is the inevitable trend and ultimate destination of rural spatial justice that rural and urban areas enjoy equal spatial status.Marx’s thought of rural spatial justice is logical and dialectical,which has a strong guiding significance for the development of rural areas and the reconciliation of urban-rural relations.
