Government Regulation On The Security Risk Of Commercial Application Of Face Recognition Technology

Face recognition technology has continuously improved its convenience due to its non-contact characteristics.It is precisely because of its convenient and fast advantages that its application is rapidly promoted,its scope continues to expand,and the industry threshold continues to decrease,leading to the increasingly serious phenomenon of face information being collected randomly nowadays.In the process of commercial application,face recognition technology may cause information leakage risks,misidentification risks,abuse risks,discrimination risks,and threaten citizens’ personal privacy security,property security,and organizational credibility.Therefore,it is of urgent practical significance and necessity to strengthen government supervision over the commercial application of face recognition technology.This article uses various research methods such as literature review,case analysis,comparative research,and questionnaire survey to investigate and analyze the convenience and potential risks of face recognition technology in the context of commercial application.Combining the public interest theory of regulation,information asymmetry theory,and collaborative governance theory,it summarizes and summarizes the existing problems in the security risk supervision of commercial application of face recognition technology in China and analyzes the reasons.The main problems in government regulation include inadequate government regulation,the timeliness of government regulation,imperfect government regulatory measures,and imperfect judicial relief system.The reasons for these problems are the imperfect legal system of government regulation,imperfect regulatory system and mechanism,immature regulatory technology and standards,and the lack of industry self-discipline organizations and public participation.Based on the analysis of the existing problems and causes in the safety risk supervision of commercial applications of face recognition technology in China,and against the background of the promulgation of the Civil Code,this paper proposes corresponding government regulatory countermeasures based on the current relevant laws and regulations and personal information protection laws in China.Assist the government in supervising the commercial application of face recognition technology,protect citizens’ personal privacy and property security,maintain organizational credibility and corporate reputation,balance the relationship between citizens’ facial information security and technological progress,and promote the healthy development of face recognition technology.
