Research On The Relationship Of Trust Between Police And Public In Ethnic Minority Areas

As a special area with different cultural backgrounds and institutional differences under the system of regional ethnic autonomy,ethnic minority areas have a complex geopolitical environment,prominent ethnic and religious contradictions,unbalanced regional economic development,and different customs and habits.Therefore,as the core of building a harmonious police-community relationship,how to explore a new reform and transformation path on the basis of in-depth observation and analysis of the trust relationship between police and people in ethnic minority areas,so as to adapt to the socio-economic conditions and changes in China’s new era,and improve the trust relationship between police and citizens in ethnic minority areas,is an important topic that should be paid attention to and reflected on by public security organs and academic research and theoretical exploration in ethnic minority areas in China.Based on trust theory,social capital theory and good governance theory,this paper uses literature research and dimensional design methods to sort out the influencing factors of police and citizen trust subject,object and environment in ethnic minority areas,puts forward corresponding hypotheses according to the relationship between each factor,and establishes a conceptual model of influencing factors of police and public trust in ethnic minority areas composed of seven variables,including mass community security perception,community cohesion,police performance trust and police fairness trust,mass social fairness perception,and ethnic culture integration perception.and design the measurement variables of each variable in the model;Using the questionnaire survey method,using T City,Inner Mongolia as the data source and intellectual basis,the required data was collected by survey;The analysis of variance,correlation analysis,structural equation model and mediation effect test were used to estimate and modify the conceptual model of the established influencing factors,and the influence relationship and action path between each variable were obtained.The results show that the model of influencing factors of police-community trust in ethnic minority areas established in this paper can be applied to the study of the relationship between police and public trust in ethnic minority areas.According to the empirical analysis results,the perception of community security,community cohesion,police performance trust and police fairness trust in ethnic minority areas all have a direct positive impact on the level of police and public trust in ethnic minority areas,while the perception of social fairness and ethnic cultural integration of the people in ethnic minority areas,which are environmental factors of police and public trust,indirectly positively affect the trust of police and citizens in ethnic minority areas,which has some intermediary roles.Based on the empirical analysis conclusions,this study proposes optimization strategies for the construction of the trust relationship between the police and the public in areas inhabited by ethnic minorities from three aspects: the emotional identity of the police and the community trust subject,the improvement of the quality of the police and the community trust object,and the service guarantee of the police and public trust environment,so as to provide a rational reference for solving practical problems.
