With the deepening of population aging and the improvement of living standards in China, the elderly are increasingly paying attention to health issues. In order to actively address the health problems of the elderly,China has introduced a number of policies, such as the "14th Five Year Plan for Healthy Ageing",to clearly deploy and improve the health support system for the elderly.Previous studies have shown that elderly people’s access to health knowledge has a crucial impact on their health status and lifestyle. Therefore,it is necessary to pay attention to the health knowledge acquisition behavior of the elderly. In view of this issue, scholars have conducted extensive exploration on the factors influencing the health knowledge acquisition behavior of the elderly, and deeply analyzed the influence of various factors on the health knowledge acquisition behavior of the elderly. However, most of the existing studies only focus on the analysis of the net benefit of a single influencing factor, ignoring the joint mechanism of multiple factors on the health knowledge acquisition behavior of the elderly. In this context, this thesis intends to explore the combined effects of antecedents in elderly knowledge acquisition behavior from a holistic perspective,in order to further understand the impact mechanism of elderly health knowledge acquisition behavior.Firstly, based on the information ecology perspective, combined with the research conclusions of the existing literature, this thesis theoretically analyzes the influencing factors of knowledge acquisition behavior of the elderly from four dimensions: information, information people, information environment and information technology, and constructs a configuration analysis framework including seven pre-elements: health knowledge demand, health knowledge discrimination ability, health knowledge understandability, knowledge source credibility, convenience of knowledge acquisition channels, interactive atmosphere and information technology.Secondly, the variables were measured by semi-structured interview and questionnaire survey, and the reliability and validity of 152 valid questionnaire data were tested. Finally, the qualitative comparative analysis method based on fuzzy set is used to explore the combination of pre-factors that produce high health knowledge acquisition behaviors and non-high health knowledge acquisition behaviors in the elderly. The results of this study show that:(1)Through the necessary condition analysis,it is found that the health knowledge acquisition behavior of the elderly is affected by the combination of several factors, and is not restricted by a single factor.(2)Through the configuration analysis,it is found that there are three configuration paths for high health knowledge acquisition behavior of the elderly, which are demand-driven,channel-dependent and source-driven.(3)Through comparative analysis of configuration results,it is found that information technology is the most core condition for the generation of elderly health knowledge acquisition behavior. At the same time, health knowledge needs, comprehensibility of knowledge, and convenience of knowledge acquisition channels are also important core conditions driving high health knowledge acquisition behavior.Based on the above research conclusions, this thesis proposes corresponding countermeasures and suggestions for the demand driven, channel dependent, and source driven behavioral patterns of elderly high health knowledge acquisition.
