| Before World War Ⅱ,Thailand had a deep social foundation of anti-Chinese.During World War Ⅱ,because of the special relationship with Japan, the exclusion of Chinese was even further. However, with the surrender of Japan, the exclusion of Chinese was still an important option for the new Thai government when the new world political pattern was formed. This article explores why the Thai government still adhered to this special policy between 1945 and 1949? And under this special policy, what is the survival picture of the Chinese in Thailand?Previous studies have mostly focused on historical documents, rarely relying on historical documents from the news media. In the context of media archaeology in the ascendant, taking Ta Kung Pao(Hong Kong version),which was second to none in both circulation and influence in the 20 th century,as the research object,first-hand news reports and speech materials, restore the vivid scenes at that time, and explore the war in Southeast Asian countries.Later, the special phenomenon of "exclusion of Chinese" was still observed."Ta Kung Pao" truly and objectively recorded the evolution of the issue of Chinese exclusion in Thailand after World War Ⅱ.It is the recorder and witness of the issue of Chinese exclusion in Thailand. It not only shows a professional attitude, but also represents the voice of Chinese society to a certain extent.Although a certain percentage of news reports come from foreign media,Ta Kung Pao has made strict selections and checks, striving to break the hegemony of Western media, and adhere to the Orientalist reporting model. In the discussion and analysis, the objective vision of the overall situation and the emotional care full of humanism are shown.Generally speaking, the research on the issue of Chinese exclusion in Thailand in Ta Kung Pao(Hong Kong Edition)has a historical and journalistic perspective.important historical value. This research consists of three parts: introduction, main body and conclusion. The introduction part mainly explains the reasons for choosing the topic, research ideas and research status. The body part is divided into five parts. The preface briefly describes the performance and social foundation of Chinese exclusion in Thailand before 1945.Chapter 1 briefly describes the performance and social foundation of Chinese exclusion in Thailand before 1945.Chapter 2 briefly describes the issue of Chinese exclusion in Thailand in the Hong Kong version of Ta Kung Pao.The report shows that the third to fifth chapters analyze in detail the reasons why Thailand still insists on the exclusion of Chinese after the Second World War.At the political level, this is related to the "after-effects" left by Japan, the tradition of military intervention in politics, and the cynicism of the Chinese government. On the economic level,it is related to the dominance and dissociation of Chinese in the Thai economy. At the social level,it can be attributed to "extreme nationalism" guided by the authorities. This study argues that from 1945 to 1949,Thailand in the media was in a chaotic state of constant change of internal regimes and active external search for new imperialist forces to "fall back".Politically, the military was dictatorial and the consciousness of "seizing" economic sovereignty. And the "anti-Communist" trend of thought guided by public opinion has become a necessary condition for the cooperation between the Thai authorities and imperialism. Therefore, the issue of Chinese exclusion is an important choice and product of this era.At the same time, the issue of Chinese exclusion affects the direction of the Thai government, which in turn indicates the situation in the entire Southeast Asia, affecting the whole body. |
