Experimental Research On Government Trust Measurement Under Media Framework Effect

As the basis for the rational and legal operation of government institutions,government trust is a hot research topic in the discipline of public management for a long time.Among them,the impact of media framework effect on Government Trust belongs to a more cuttingedge direction.In public events,the guidance of news public opinion usually affects the government trust by affecting the public’s view and cognition.However,due to the sudden occurrence of public events,it is often difficult for academic circles to capture relevant information in time,and it is difficult to observe and confirm the mechanism of such problems.Now the COVID-19 that has changed the world and the debate in the public opinion field provide an opportunity for this study.This paper focuses on the disputes related to epidemic control,and discusses how the level of government trust will change after the public is exposed to the media framework information about epidemic treatment.Due to the sensitivity of government trust,in order to measure the true level of government trust,this paper adopts the method of single category implicit association test.Based on the expectation value model and agenda setting theory,this paper introduces authoritarian personality and political knowledge as regulatory variables,and conducts an investigation experiment on 240 college students.The experiment takes authoritarian personality and political knowledge level as the basis of experimental grouping.Through the grouping design of 2(grade)* 2(authoritarian personality)* 2(political knowledge)* 3(frame information),add different frame news stimuli,compare the changes of government trust before and after,and test whether the media information has frame effect.This paper finds that media framework information will have an impact on people’s government trust level;Authoritarian personality and political knowledge not only have a significant positive relationship with government trust in daily life,but also play a regulatory role in the process of media frame effect affecting the change of political attitude;Individuals with high authoritarian personality and more political knowledge will have a stronger framework effect after contacting positive framework news,and the level of government trust will be improved more;After exposure to negative frame news,the effect of frame information is weak,and the level of government trust is weak.Finally,the limitations are discussed,and the direction of future experimental design is pointed out.
