Research On The Image Of Disabled People In Online Media From The Perspective Of Framing Theor

In the new media era,the speed and scope of media communication have been greatly expanded,and the mass media is duty-bound to project the real and objective image of the vulnerable groups.As the communicator and shaper of social ideology and the important channel of social and cultural communication,media plays a vital role.Due to their particularity,the vulnerable group of the disabled has been in the lower level of the society for a long time.With the progress of social civilization,the attention of the society to the disabled group is increasing day by day,and the awareness of the disabled is also improving.Therefore,the image and performance of the disabled in the media has become a new focus of public attention and an important issue of social concern.At the same time,the mimicry environment constructed by media greatly affects the audience’s behavior of understanding social reality and making cognitive judgment.This further strengthens the necessity of researching and exploring the media image of the disabled.Micro Blog,a new media platform based on user relationship,provides a new platform for the presentation of the media image of the disabled,and also provides a realistic reference for the media to build the image of the disabled.Through its rich forms of content and extremely fast transmission speed,its influence has become impossible to ignore,even more than many traditional media.In this thesis,the contents related to the image of the disabled in the official Micro Blog of China Disabled Persons Magazine from July 2018 to June 2022 are classified and counted.Based on the framework of high,medium and low levels,the framework list analysis index and other subjects closely related to the study of persons with disabilities,this thesis makes a quantitative analysis of the contents related to the images of persons with disabilities in the official Micro Blog of China Magazine for Persons with Disabilities,presents non-digital media information in the form of data,and summarizes the images of persons with disabilities through qualitative analysis as follows: Struggle inspirational,successful image;Hard-working,self-reliant image of the strong;Open-minded,love life of the optimist image;Selfless dedication,love and dedication to help the image;The image of marginalized people suffering injustice and low status;There are six kinds of images of vulnerable groups in need of social help and security.Then it points out the problems in the media’s reporting of the disabled and in the process of presenting and constructing the image of the disabled,and the causes of the problems.Finally,combined with the analysis of the problems and causes,the author puts forward targeted and practical suggestions for improvement.Based on the frame theory and media image theory,combined with the content analysis method of quantitative research and the text analysis method of qualitative research,this study explores the formation and evolution process of the images of the disabled presented and constructed by the media as well as the concepts and values of the society towards the disabled.Through interdisciplinary knowledge and methods to promote the integration of disciplines,provide new ideas for media research,enrich the content and scope of media research,and increase the depth and breadth of media research.At the same time,it helps the society to form a more comprehensive and clear cognition of the disabled,and provides the disabled group with a model of behavior to imitate and a clear direction and goal in the orientation of social integration.
