Research On WeChat Rumor Dissemination And Governance Of Elderly Groups In The Digital Age

As one of the most important new media social platforms in China,WeChat has a large number of users and has gradually become a tool for the elderly to communicate.As the susceptible group of WeChat rumors,the elderly’s rumor-spreading behavior has also attracted widespread attention from the society.This paper takes the elderly group over 60 years old as the research object,and the sample of 90 rumors from the WeChat Security Center public account in 2022 as the basic data to analyze the transmission content,transmission mode and spread intensity of WeChat rumors.From the perspectives of individual factors and social factors,this paper discusses the degree of rumors,willingness to spread rumors and the influencing factors of the elderly group’s WeChat rumors.Under the dual influence of individual factors and social factors,the degree of personal anxiety and media literacy among individual factors have an impact on WeChat rumor dissemination behavior.Intergenerational feedback and group pressure in social factors have an impact on WeChat rumor spreading behavior.Among them,the degree of personal anxiety has the greatest impact on the degree of rumors,and intergenerational feedback has the greatest impact on the willingness to spread rumors.In this paper,quantitative research is used as the main method,questionnaire survey is used to collect samples,and SPSS25.0 software is used to perform correlation analysis,regression analysis and other statistical analysis of the collected information as the support of the research.It is found that individual factors and social factors both affect the degree of rumor acceptance and the willingness to spread rumors in the elderly group.From the perspective of individual factors,the elderly group believes in rumors and spreads rumors out of anxiety and herd psychological factors.From the perspective of social factors,the rumors spread by the elderly group are mainly for the purpose of maintaining the certainty of parent-child relationship and constructing the image of social networks.In addition,intergenerational feedback can reduce the willingness of the elderly group to spread rumors to a certain extent,and help the elderly group better adapt to the digital age.
