Research On The Idea Of Common Wealth In China Since The Reform And Opening Up

Common prosperity is the common participation of all people in the productive work of society,the gradual elimination of polarisation and all systems of exploitation,and the achievement of full prosperity in material and spiritual life under conditions of moderate disparity.Historically,European ideal socialists have tried to build an ideal society free from exploitation and oppression and in which all people are equal,but have failed to do so due to the level of development of the productive forces and the various social conditions of the time.Unlike Western ideal socialism,Marx and Engels,by analysing the laws of development of human society,drew up a beautiful blueprint for a society of common prosperity in terms of the ownership of the means of production,the system of social distribution,and the characteristics of the productive forces and relations of production.In the course of more than a hundred years of history,the Chinese Communists have inherited and developed the idea of common prosperity from Marxism and the excellent traditional Chinese culture,and have advanced the formation of the idea of common prosperity in its Chinese and contemporary form.Under the leadership of the Chinese Communists,mainly represented by Comrade Mao Zedong,China has achieved major changes in the field of relations of production and the rapid development of the social productive forces.After the reform and opening up,the Chinese Communists,mainly represented by Comrade Deng Xiaoping,with great political courage and mission,profoundly realised that China could not reject the market economy if it wanted to achieve common prosperity,let alone be outside the world market,and that it needed to liberate and develop the social productive forces under new historical conditions through reforms in the economic,political and cultural institutions.The Chinese Communists,mainly represented by Comrades Jiang Zemin and Hu Jintao,have continued to struggle in the process of promoting common prosperity,proposing strategic initiatives such as the Great Western Development,developmental poverty alleviation and building a harmonious society,gradually improving the top-level design of socialism with Chinese characteristics.Since the new era,the Chinese Communists,mainly represented by Comrade Xi Jinping,have adhered to the people-centred development ideology and,under the guidance of the new development philosophy,have helped to win the battle against poverty through policy initiatives such as promoting balanced regional development and equalisation of basic public services,mending the shortcomings of rural development and reforming the income distribution system,so that the people can enjoy the fruits of modern development in a greater and fairer way.On this basis,the 20 th Party Congress proposed Chinese style modernisation to help achieve the second century goal,and gave a comprehensive explanation of the basic features,essential requirements and general strategic arrangements of Chinese style modernisation,among which,common prosperity for all people is one of the basic features and essential requirements of Chinese style modernisation,and is also a manifestation of the advantages of the socialist system with Chinese characteristics.Therefore,in the new journey of common prosperity,it is necessary to understand and summarise the lessons learned from the past in a pragmatic manner,but also to fully grasp and respond to the new opportunities and challenges in the process of modernisation,to try to solve new development problems with new ideas,and to make continuous efforts to consolidate the material basis of common prosperity by adhering to economic construction as the centre,to build a relatively fair and reasonable income distribution pattern,and to improve social governance and social security system systems,so as to ensure that common prosperity can be steadily promoted in the new era.A review of the evolution of the idea of common prosperity in China since the reform and opening up of the country has fully proved that the idea of common prosperity put forward by successive generations of Chinese Communists is a scientific guiding ideology that guides the Chinese people to achieve common prosperity along the road to Chinese-style modernisation.At present,in a treacherous international environment,it is not only a matter of social stability but also of the people’s confidence in the achievement of common prosperity by properly handling the problems that arise in the process of economic development along the Chinese path of modernisation.A systematic review of the idea of common prosperity in China at different stages of development since the reform and opening up will not only help to clarify the theoretical and practical value of the idea of common prosperity,but the basic experience of China in promoting the development of the idea of common prosperity can also provide inspiration for solving the development problems in the process of modernisation.
