| Under the background of population aging and fertility reduction in China,it is necessary to implement the delayed retirement policy and the three-child policy. However, from the perspective of family intergenerational care, the delayed retirement policy has a deviating effect from the three-child policy, and the delayed retirement policy for the elderly will crowd out the female labor force participation rate, which has attracted extensive attention from the academic community.Focusing on the micro level of family, this paper aims to explore the influence mechanism of delayed retirement on female labor force participation rate, and clarify the role of intergenerational care in it,so as to provide suggestions and thoughts for the implementation of delayed retirement policy and the realization of high-quality employment for women.Based on the literature review, this paper analyzed the relationship between delayed retirement, intergenerational care and female labor force participation rate.Part of the theoretical mechanism is based on a three-stage OLG model. From the perspective of intergenerational care, the theoretical mechanism of delayed retirement inhibiting female labor force participation rate is clarified. In the empirical part, the differential method was used to test the mixed cross-sectional data of CFPS in 2014,2016 and 2018,and then the mechanism was tested based on alternate generation care. The research conclusions of this paper are as follows: First, the delayed retirement behavior of the elderly has a significant inhibitory effect on the labor force participation rate of young women. After further testing with PSM-DID method, the same conclusion can still be obtained, indicating the robustness of this conclusion.Second, according to the number of children in different families, the families with more children have a more obvious negative impact of delayed retirement on female labor force participation rate.Third, according to different human capital, women with lower human capital have a greater impact on the negative impact of delayed retirement policy.Fourthly, according to the regions with different fertility intention, the higher the fertility intention, the more significantly the female labor force participation rate is inhibited by the delayed retirement policy.Fifth, female labor force participation rate is affected by individual characteristics, offspring characteristics and family characteristics, among which the age structure of offspring has a nonlinear relationship with female labor force participation rate, which first inhibits and then promotes.Sixth, the mechanism test shows that delayed retirement has an inhibitory effect on women’s labor participation rate by reducing the intergenerational care behavior, and the reduction of intergenerational care demand can weaken the employment impact of delayed retirement on women. In addition, women in families still have a certain rigid demand for intergenerational care when public care resources are scarce.Based on theoretical analysis and empirical conclusions, this paper puts forward some policy suggestions, such as making flexible retirement policy, increasing public child care resources and improving the female employment security system. This is conducive to easing the conflicts and contradictions between the delayed retirement policy and the three-child policy, improving the public’s understanding and recognition of the policy content, easing the resistance to the implementation of the policy, and promoting the implementation of the policy. |
