A Study On Social Support Of The Floating Elderly Population From Rural To Urban Area

With the continuous acceleration of urbanization and industrialization in China,the scale of the floating population continues to expand.Since the implementation of the strategy of strengthening the province with talents,Guizhou Province has attracted outstanding talents from all over the country to settle in Guizhou.Affected by the mobility of young people,the number of parents accompanying their children is increasing,that is,the number of elderly migrants is increasing.Local social support is the guarantee for the elderly to be able to live a stable life in the place of migration/inflow,and is the basis for the integration of migrant elderly from the countryside into urban life.Social support is a social resource enjoyed by the migrant elderly in different places,which directly affects the quality of life of the "township-city" migrant elderly population in different places and the harmony and stability of society.This paper takes the "township-city" migrant elderly population in Huaxi District of Guiyang City as the research object,conducts questionnaire surveys and case interviews in Huaxi District,collects and organizes the obtained data and materials,and analyzes the social support of the "township-city" migrant elderly population in Huaxi District by combining quantitative and qualitative methods.The study found that the practical plight of the "township-urban" migrant elderly has a strong sense of inner loneliness in informal support,Economic support is relatively weak,and limited labor support.In terms of quasi-formal support,there are unreasonable community facilities,and community hospitals cannot meet the medical needs of the elderly;In terms of formal support,there are low rural pensions,high subsidy application thresholds,relatively few types of drugs reimbursed by medical insurance,and high medical insurance reimbursement thresholds.In view of the problems arising from the social support of the "township-urban" migrant elderly population,the causes of the dilemma were analyzed,and corresponding policy suggestions were put forward:1.In terms of informal support,encourage the social participation of the migrant elderly;Give play to the dividends of the elderly and encourage the elderly to re-employment;Improve peer and neighborhood mutual aid networks;2.In terms of quasi-formal support,enrich community cultural and recreational activities and enhance social services;improving community health care;3.In terms of formal support,consider actual needs and appropriately reduce the threshold for medical reimbursement ratio;expanding the types of drugs reimbursed by health insurance;Continuous increase in the amount of pensions received,and other measures.Through informal support for the main family,quasi-formal support for the main community,and formal support for the main body of the main state,integrate multiple forces,establish a social support system,accelerate the social integration of the rural elderly in the city,and let the "rural-urban" migrant elderly have a high-quality old age.
