Marxist theory is shrouded in the dust of history and the ever-changing reality.Marxist classic writers not only brought countless valuable intellectual wealth to future generations,but also made unremitting efforts for the great cause of communism.Ideology affects the direction of cultural progress.It is related to the way of the Party and the country’s cause.The overall trend of the development of China’s ideological field is stable and positive,but new situations are constantly changing and new problems are constantly emerging.In the new stage of development towards the comprehensive construction of a socialist modernized country,China’s ideological field still faces many risks and challenges.Thus,whether we can firmly grasp the leadership of ideological work has become an unavoidable important task in consolidating the guiding position of Marxist ideology and leading the development of Marxism’s sinicization and modernization.Throughout the formation and development of Marx and Engels’ ideology of leadership,it is gradually maturing on the basis of continuous scientific integration with the workers’movement,and it profoundly shows a process of theory from scratch.The formation of Marx and Engels’ ideological theory provides a profound theoretical basis for Marx and Engels’ideological leadership thought.This paper will accord to the research idea of "social background-development process-main content-contemporary value" to conduct an indepth study of Marx and Engels’ ideology of leadership.The article consists of five chapters,which are in four parts of segmentation:The first part is about the social background of Marx and Engels’ ideological leadership thought.Among them,the background of the times includes the impact of the European Ideological Enlightenment,the outbreak of the Industrial Revolution,and the labor movement caused by the sharp contradiction between the proletariat and the bourgeoisie.In the theoretical sources,it is elaborated that Marx and Engels gradually formed a scientific Marxist and Engels’ideological leadership ideology in the process of criticizing and inheriting Trassian ideological theory,Hegel’s philosophical thought,and Feuerbach’s thought.The second part mainly explains the development process of Marx and Engels’ ideological leadership thought,which has gone through a period from germination,formation,development to maturity in chronological order.The ideological leadership thought in the budding period was hidden in Marx and Engels’ continuous thinking on social issues in the youth.In the period of formation and development,Marx and Engels criticized various wrong social trends of thought in the practical exploration of guiding the workers’ movement by taking criticism and construction as the main way,and constantly developed the ideology of leadership of Marxism.In the mature period,after Marx’s death,Engels continued to guide the workers’ movement with the heavy responsibility,and enriched the relevant content of Marxist ideological leadership thought in the summary of practical experience.The third part mainly discusses the main content of Marx and Engels’ ideological leadership thought.It includes four aspects:the proletariat and political parties are the practice subjects of ideological leadership,the class struggle is the important way to strive for the ideological leadership,the criticism of wrong social trends is the realistic requirement of safeguarding ideological leadership and the party’s ideological construction is the core content of consolidating ideological leadership.The fourth part is the contemporary value of the guiding ideology of Marx and Engels.This chapter discusses the reality of China,focusing on consolidating the guiding position of Marxist ideology,theoretical research and innovation of Marxist ideology,deepening the accurate criticism and guidance of diverse social ideological trends,and improving the correct practices of social ideological work.
