Research On Women’s Education In Shandong Anti Japanese Base Area

Since modern times,with the invasion of imperialism,Western ideas such as freedom,democracy,and science have been introduced to China.Some advanced intellectuals have begun to think about the important role of women in the entire society and have advocated and promoted women’s liberation.To truly achieve liberation,women fundamentally need to awaken themselves,break through the existing feudal constraints,and liberate themselves.To achieve women’s self-awareness,it is necessary to carry out extensive education to free the vast majority of women from their past ignorance.Since its founding,the CPC has set the liberation of all mankind as its goal,attached great importance to women’s issues,actively carried out women’s movement,and made unremitting efforts to achieve women’s liberation.During the Anti Japanese War,women’s education was an important part of the CPC’s social education and mass mobilization.It could not only meet the needs of women’s desire for knowledge and liberation,but also add important strength to the Party’s anti Japanese national united front.Under the leadership of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China,various anti Japanese base areas have carried out extensive women’s education based on local conditions.Before the establishment of the political power in the Shandong Anti Japanese Base Area,,women’s education in the Shandong region experienced a process from the emergence of church girls’ schools to the rise of public girls’ schools and the popularization of coeducational schools.Although some progress was made,most schools were concentrated in cities with convenient transportation and developed economies,and there was an imbalance in development between different regions.Overall,the popularization rate of women’s education was low,Education for non school-age women is relatively scarce,and the cultural literacy of women in rural areas is still low.The situation is not optimistic and it is difficult to adapt to the needs of women’s liberation and struggle against the enemy.Therefore,the Shandong Anti Japanese Base Area regards women’s education as one of the key tasks of the base area.Under the unified leadership of the Party Central Committee,various forms such as women’s cadre training schools,women’s cadre training classes,women’s winter schools,literacy classes,and household schools are adopted to provide political education,cultural education,and production technology education for women,which has the characteristics of universality,revolution,and practicality,Not only did it enhance the cultural level of women and promote their own liberation,but it also played an important role in promoting the construction of the Shandong Anti Japanese Base and the ultimate victory of the War of Resistance.The development of women’s education in the Shandong Anti Japanese Base Area has its unique historical logic and context.By sorting and summarizing it,we can draw valuable historical experience reflected in it,which is of great significance for enriching the research on the history of the Shandong Anti Japanese War and the history of the Party’s women’s education.It has certain reference significance for carrying out women’s work in the new era.
