Xi Jinping’s Important Exposition On The Culture Of Heroes

Heroic culture,as a unique spiritual culture of mankind,is the crystallisation of the outstanding culture of the nation.Since ancient times,the Chinese people have revered heroes and celebrated them,and the hero complex is engraved in the hearts of every Chinese.Throughout the ages,there have been many heroes and heroines who have woven a beautiful chapter of the Chinese nation with their lives.Since the 18 th Party Congress,General Secretary Xi Jinping has expressed the need for heroes in the new era from the height of the nation,and launched a series of discussions on what kind of hero culture is needed in the new era and how to promote hero culture,forming a complete theoretical system.Hero culture has become an important element of Xi Jinping’s governance.To study Xi Jinping’s important discourse on heroic culture,a multi-dimensional analysis is required.Firstly,the paper starts from Xi Jinping’s theories on heroic culture and elaborates on the relevant concepts of heroic culture,the theoretical sources,distinctive features and their functions of Xi Jinping’s important discourse on heroic culture.On this basis,the spiritual essence and contemporary values of Xi Jinping’s important discourse on heroic culture are analysed.It also uses questionnaires and interviews to understand the degree and depth of people’s awareness of Xi Jinping’s important discourse on hero culture,and concludes that there are obvious shortcomings in contemporary society’s awareness of hero culture,mainly including: the intergenerational heritage is ineffective,schools are programmed to promote heroic culture,and the image of heroes created by society is out of touch with the needs of reality.The main reasons for this are the inadequate inculcation of heroic culture in families,the weakening of heroic culture education in schools,the denigration and discrediting of heroic figures on the Internet and the influence of historical nihilism.Therefore,to promote heroic culture and deepen people’s awareness of it,we need to make concerted efforts at four levels: creating a base point for family education,building a solid main school front,creating a good social environment and positioning a general direction for the development of heroic culture,so as to strengthen the people’s faith in heroic culture and promote it in practical action.
