Cyber Nationalism in China emerged in the 1990 s and has continued to flourish since this century.It is an important cultural phenomenon on the Internet platforms.The emergence of cyber nationalism is the result of the combined effects of traditional Chinese culture and Western culture,globalization and cyber culture,that is,the product of cultural resistance.At the same time,it has its own unique performance in specific practice,which is mainly reflected in the way that netizens use boycotts,appeals,or consumption on online platforms to express their attitudes towards the subjects involved,and expand their influence through online discussions and realistic words and deeds.Intended to safeguard China’s national interests and dignity.This paper discusses cyber nationalism from the perspective of case analysis.It is composed of an introduction and three chapters.The introduction mainly introduces the origin and research significance of the topic selection,the selection of network field points,the current status of domestic and foreign related research,research goals and methods,etc.The first chapter discusses the concept and development of cyber nationalism.First,it defines the concepts related to it,that is,the connection and focus between cyber nationalism and nationalism,patriotism,populism,and ultra-nationalism.Secondly,it analyzes the development of Chinese nationalism to cyber nationalism.The background and the current conceptual connotation of cyber nationalism as one of the cultural phenomena.Finally,it is divided into stages based on the development of cyber nationalism in China for more than two decades.The second chapter carries out a specific analysis of network nationalism in the way of typical cases.Mainly take the "H&M Incident" that occurred from March to April 2021 as the research entry point.Through a brief description of the incident and analysis of the phenomenon of boycotting consumer online nationalism in this incident,it paid attention to domestic netizens’ calls to boycott H&M.The reasons for the brand,the logical construction of the rationality of "resisting consumption" behavior,and the development and evolution of the H&M event’s resistance to consumption,and discussed the factors that influence netizens’ nationalistic sentiment against consumerism in the event.The third chapter mainly discusses the ways to deal with the domestic extreme online nationalism thoughts,and prospects the development prospects of online nationalism in the "post-epidemic" period.That is to say,we can deal with extreme cyber nationalism from the aspects of system construction,education and training,technical support,and cultural concepts,and strengthen the reflection and localized application of the concept of cyber nationalism itself,from both theoretical and practical measures.Guide China’s cyber nationalism to develop in a more rational direction.
