Urban and rural relations are an important relationship in the process of human social development.Marx and Engels have deeply revealed the change law of the relationship between urban and rural contradictions and developed a rich and systematic theory of urban-rural relations.China is a major country with traditional agricultural civilization.Scientific handling of urban and rural relations is one of the core problems that must be faced in the process of national development.Since the reform and opening up,especially after entering a new era,the CPC has gone through the process of "separation of urban and rural areas" and "urban--rural integration",based on Marx and Engels’ discussion of the city and country, and sum up some experience in handling urban and country construction, which has not only enriched the Marxist theory of urban-rural relations, formed new theoretical achievements, but also explored the road of urban-rural integration with Chinese characteristics. This paper aims to explore the main problems in the process of urban-rural integration in China in the new era by using Marxist standpoint, viewpoints and methods,as well as literature analysis, empirical investigation and comparative study.Specifically, the paper is composed of five chapters and conclusion:The first chapter is introduction part.It mainly introduces the background and significance of the selected topic, relevant research results, research ideas and methods, innovation and shortcomings, and sets up the basic framework of the paper. The second chapter mainly combs Marx and Engels’ views on urban-rural relations, mainly including the realistic basis, theoretical origin and contemporary value of the theory, and focuses on digging and explaining Marx and Engels’ discussions on urban-rural relations. The third chapter mainly combs the development process of Urban and rural areas in China from dual division to urban-rural integration.Taking the historical development and evolution as the context, the evolution process of urban-rural relations is summarized as four stages:urban-rural dual separation,urban-rural relations breaking the ice, reform and adjustment, and integration, which adds historical support to to the paper. The fourth chapter analyzes the problems and causes in the process of urban-rural integration in China. As China has long been affected by the urban-rural dual structure, coupled with the complex situation in dealing with "agriculture, rural areas and farmers" issues, there is a big gap between urban and rural areas in terms of income and basic public services.Under the support of Marx and Engels’ theory of urban-rural relations, the fifth chapter focuses on the measures to eliminate the division between urban and rural areas and narrow the gap between urban and rural areas. Conclusion part. The main thesis discusses the central theme and specific content of a brief summary.
