The collapse of the Soviet Union left a power vacuum for the Tran Caucasus and many unsolved territorial disputes.The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is a long-term unsolved problem that stretches between Armenia and Azerbaijan.After two major wars in 1992 and 2020 because of the ownership of Nagorno-Karabakh,the two countries are still in a motivating confrontation.The reasons for the conflict can be found in the Soviet ethnic policies,the different religious cultures of Armenia and Azerbaijan,and the different narratives of national memory.In addition,the solution of nagorno-karabakh problem also due to the lack of trust and long-term opposition and hostility,the two countries domestic nationalism sentiment,for territorial claims of different appeal,Azerbaijan strive to recover lost lands,the failure of the international mediation mechanism,fierce geopolitical game.The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict has complicated the game situation of the Tran Caucasus,and Armenia and Azerbaijan have also endured the double pressure of domestic economic and politics due to the long-term confrontation.Despite the ceasefire of the Second Nagorno-Karabakh War with the help of Russia,the subsequent negotiations between the two countries are still not progressing smoothly,and there is still the possibility of a fierce conflict between the two countries in the future.The complexity of the Nagorno-Karabakh problem shows that the road to resolve the conflict is also very difficult.Armenia and Azerbaijan should actively build mutual trust,strengthen communication and exchanges,and form interdependent relations.Major powers outside the region should reduce their interference in the affairs of the region,and the Minsk Group should play its substantive role in enhancing the efficiency of mediation and focus on the ownership of the core issue of the conflict which the ownership of Nagorno-Karabakh.
