With the deepening of China’s new urbanization construction, the pace of urban-rural integration construction has gradually accelerated,a large number of rural populations have migrated to cities, the number of floating populations has increased, and the proportion has become higher and higher.A large number of rural-city and city-city migrants have migrated to the city, which has gradually formed a situation in which two major groups of local residents and foreign population coexist in the urban social space.Foreigners and locals are all building a harmonious society in the city, and the ability of the two sides to live in harmony is an important prerequisite for building a civilized community and a harmonious community.Because of this, what kind of attitude local residents have towards the foreign floating population, whether it is emotional discrimination or psychological acceptance, the urban integration and intergroup communication of the foreign population are of great significance, and are the key indicators affecting the harmonious development of society, which has aroused widespread concern in academic and government circles. At the same time as the rapid influx of floating population into the city, the real estate market is booming and has increasingly become a pillar industry of the current national economy.According to the theory of supply and demand, assuming that the housing supply remains unchanged in the short term, the influx of floating population will increase the demand for housing in the city to some extent and drive house prices up.The change in house prices will not only affect the willingness of floating populations to buy and settle down, but also increase the cost of buying houses for locals and affect the purchase decisions of locals. This may lead to a lower evaluation of foreigners by locals, and even anger the floating population, believing that the influx of outsiders has inflated housing prices. The purpose of this article is to study the willingness of local residents to accept the floating population.More specifically,it studies how the willingness of local residents to accept migrants changes with changes in housing prices. If it can be confirmed that the rise in housing prices will reduce the willingness of local people to accept foreigners, then it is possible to control the rise in house prices, enhance the willingness of local people to accept people in foreign areas, and further promote the social integration of floating populations and the construction of a harmonious society. This paper uses three years of dynamic monitoring data on health and family planning of floating populations nationwide to study the relationship between changes in housing prices and local people’s acceptance of foreigners. In addition, the relationship between the two will be further analyzed according to the individual characteristics, family characteristics and different regions, and the possible reasons for the existence of the differences. The results of the study show that the growth of house prices is negatively correlated with the probability of local residents accepting immigrants, that is,the faster and higher the growth of house prices, the more reluctant the indigenous people are to accept outsiders as members of the local population, and the more they resent becoming neighbors, friends and even couples with the foreign population. And respondents with stable jobs, high family income levels, large housing areas, and high population density in their cities will generally be more willing to accept outsiders and become neighbors, friends or couples.
