How Spatial Contexts Promote Blood Donation Transformation

Space as the most basic experience perception of individuals,the construction and operation of blood donation space will affect people’s blood donation choices.Street blood donation stations are an important spatial carrier of the city’s unpaid blood donation system,and more than 70% of clinical blood comes from street blood donation.With the development of urbanization,the development of blood donation points has moved from a stable period of quantitative expansion to an upgrading period of landscape integration,and the spatial challenges it faces are more arduous-how to improve blood collection efficiency and tap the increase in blood donation in the limited number of points and spatial conditions.Wuhan has rich experience in street blood donation strategies,this research is based on spatial sociology theory such as spatial situation theory,taking the spatial practice of street blood donation points in Wuhan as the research object,first of all,through the spatial observation map and spatial coding research methods to show the internal spatial composition of blood donation points and the position in the entire urban spatial network,to understand people’s spatial perception and behavior characteristics of blood donation points,and secondly,to analyze the operational characteristics and endogenous logic of street blood donation points through spatial ethnography.Finally,relying on the perspective of spatial situation,taking the individual’s spatial perception as the starting point,analyzing the role of blood donation space in the transformation of blood donation,situation factors,mutual aid chains,and ripples of goodwill,the four links of the situational stereotype show the blood donation action and spatial development logic of people in the spatial context under the initial stage of the development of blood donation culture,in the individual dimension,the spatial context promotes the "thawing" of people’s perception of the blood donation point space,pulls in the social distance between people and the blood donation point,and promotes the transformation of blood donation.In the dimension of social solidarity,the operation of the spatial context promotes the production and precipitation of the altruistic spirit of the blood donation point,continues the production of social solidarity with unpaid blood donation as the core,and provides a sustainable development thinking perspective of the existing blood donation point space practice.
