Research On The Role Of Government In The Development Of Convention And Exhibition Industry In Yunnan

Because of its functions of integrated marketing,industrial linkage and cultural exchange,the convention and exhibition industry plays a unique platform and driving role in the development of modern economy.Yunnan convention and exhibition industry has made great breakthroughs in quantity,quality and platform functions since the 1990 s,but there are still many problems.Among them,the deviation of government’s role positioning in the industry development is a big factor that affects the industry development.This paper takes the government’s role orientation in the development of Yunnan convention and exhibition industry as the research object,takes the new public service theory and governance theory as the theoretical basis,and uses the methods of literature analysis,comparative analysis and case analysis to conduct research.By analyzing the development status and existing problems of Yunnan convention and exhibition industry in recent years,the paper holds that it is necessary for the government to intervene in the development of the industry,and further concludes that the role of the government in the development of the industry should be the guidance and service of the industry,the maintainer of order and the macro-controller.By summarizing the government’s current measures,policies and case analysis,it is concluded that the government’s actual role in the industry development is an important market participant,guide and service provider.Based on the interviews,this paper analyzes the historical reasons,management system and service consciousness for the deviation between the actual role positioning and the supposed role positioning.Combined with the analysis of the questionnaire survey,it is concluded that the important characteristics of exhibition activities are to be able to bring harvest to participants as a carrier of information exchange,and the marketization and specialization of exhibition activities are the general trend of industry development.Through the analysis and research,the paper thinks that the development of Yunnan exhibition industry should respect the economic law,find the industrial advantages,gradually reduce the number of government-sponsored exhibition activities,and focus on the market to adjust the allocation of resources.The thesis puts forward suggestions on role correction from the following aspects:the pursuit of public interest and public services,maintaining the market order,improving social management,correcting market failure and Macroeconomic regulation and control.It is hoped that on the existing basis,by optimizing the role of the government,we can explore a better path for the development of Yunnan’s convention and exhibition industry,give full play to the linkage effect and platform function of the industry,and serve and promote the overall development of Yunnan’s social economy.
