Reservoir immigration led by the state is a huge and complex process. The immigrant group is completely disembedded from the old cultural structure.Under the influence of various factors, they are faced with multiple difficulties. They cannot go back to their hometown or enter a new home.,Has gradually become a marginal group in the cracks of society, facing multiple dilemmas.Regarding the adaptation and integration of engineering immigrants, the mainstream view is that immigrant groups continue to integrate into local life in the passage of time, and are gradually integrated into the process of cultural assimilation of the place. In fact, immigrant groups will exert their own subjective initiative, show different attitudes according to their own culture and combined with the local environment, and choose adaptive strategies flexibly. The research question of this article is when immigrants face multiple marginal dilemmas, what strategies do they adopt to enable their groups to get rid of their marginal status, achieve social adaptation, and finally achieve roots in the local area, and in the process their group identity goes through What kind of transformation process has been learned. This article selects the immigrant group of Danjiangkou Reservoir in Chaihu Town as the research object of this article. In the 1960s,the construction of the Danjiangkou Reservoir began, which caused some villagers in Xichuan,Henan to leave their homes to live in Chaihu Town,Hubei Province. For more than half a century, they have completed their livelihood adaptation, and in terms of culture, they still adhere to the previous culture, and on this basis, creatively produce a unique group culture-immigration culture. This is not only the root of their culture, but at the same time it also makes them and the local society still in a state of fusion but not in a threshold state. The study found that at the beginning of the relocation, the immigrants encountered multiple fringe dilemmas. These dilemmas came from incompatibility in production and life,as well as obstacles and exclusions between social communication and management. In the face of multiple survival dilemmas and social exclusion, they did not.Instead of embarking on the road of assimilation as expected, instead relying on geographic space, actively establish a relatively independent immigrant community, and actively use its own culture, policy resources, and kinship network to construct its own subjectivity, adopting survival interaction and stickiness. The appropriate cultural adaptation strategy forms a unique immigration culture and immigration status, which in turn enhances its own viability and group strength. However, due to the long-term geographical and cultural isolation, there is still a subtle gap between the immigrant group and the original inhabitant group in Xichuan. This article believes that the immigrant group must actively break group boundaries, construct self-identity,seriously reflect on the question of "who am I",and realize self-realization.value.
