A Narrative Study Of Political Communication On Social Media Of Han Kuo-yu

The development and popularization of network technology and mobile terminals have broken the fixed thinking of media as a mouthpiece,and social media has gradually entered the center stage,greatly affecting the development of political communication and promoting politicians to master stronger narrative initiative and narrative ability.This research focuses on 2020 Taiwan Election,using Facebook,the most widely used social application software in Taiwan,as the research carrier,and combines related theories of narratology to conduct a qualitative study on the narrative characteristics of political communication on social media of Han Kuo-yu.The study found that during 2020 Taiwan Election,Han kuo-yu’s Facebook political communication narrative mainly adopts an internal perspective,presenting the characteristics of a single narrative subject and multiple narrative person,using colloquial and literary narrative styles,and choosing narrative theme according to narrative identity,shifting from economic dominance to political dominance.Compared with Han Kuo-yu’s performance during 2018 Taiwan "Nine-in-One"Election,his narrative perspective has shrunk,from multiple narrators to single narrator,from a combination of internal and external perspectives to a single internal perspective,and the use of narrative persons presenting a diversified trend,Han Kuo-yu as an"implied author" has more control over narratives.His narrative style maintains the"plebian language" route,emphasizing colloquial narration while showing a tendency of strengthening literary narration.His narrative theme changed from economy to politics,and the sub-topics changed from centralized to scattered.Han Kuo-yu’s narrative advantage is to adopt t a head-up narrative perspective instead of the overhead perspective that the Kuomintang has always used.Its disadvantage is that the narrative theme is narrow and one-sided,lacking systematic logic on the whole,and lacks initiative and flexibility in parts.This study also summarizes the shortcomings of Han Kuo-yu’s narrative strategy in political communication.His narrative style is old and lacks originality.There are contradictions in his narrative theme and slow adjustment.
