Research On The "Purchase Of The Diaoyu Islands"

Year 2012 was the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Japan.However,Japan ignored the "shelving dispute" consensus reached by China and Japan in 1972 and announced the "Purchase of the Diaoyu Islands",which flagrantly provoked China’s territorial sovereignty and caused huge damage on Sino-Japanese relations.It is no accident that the "Purchase of the Diaoyu Islands" has evolved from an initial small diplomatic event to a major diplomatic crisis between China and Japan.Its occurrence and development based on changes in the East Asian region,the development of Japan’s national strategy,and the political influence of Japan’s domestic parties.The event has brought serious influence in politics,economy,and non-governmental exchanges in both China and Japan.This article will synthesize previous studies,carry out retrospective and overall analysis of the incident,and discuss a series of deep-seated reasons for the Sino-Japanese diplomatic conflicts,that is,the structural contradiction between China and Japan.Aim to providing a reference for the sound development of Sino-Japanese relations.
