| In the Edo Period of Japan,the Chinese style calligraphy became popular and especially was called Karayou-sho in Japan.However,it had been changed and looked different from the traditional Chinese style calligraphy.The paper bases on the calligraphy works,calligraphy thoughts and relevant historical materials of the Karayou-sho calligraphers.the purposes of this study is to analyze the reasons that made Chinese calligraphy change.The analysis shows that the formation of Karayou-sho is not just the result of a simple acceptance and influence.The similar cultural structure of the two countries enables Chinese calligraphy to take root and survive in Japan,but Chinese calligraphy had always been presented in Japan in an interrupted and fragmented form in this period,which provides a lot of space for the Chinese calligraphy to be Japanized. |
