The original text of this translation practice report is selected from China’s hot news in 2022.In the context of Chinese culture “going out”,news,as an important window for external publicity,is the main medium for the international community to understand China. Therefore,a translator has the responsibility and obligation to introduce Chinese culture to the world. The translator found that the original text contains a majority of words with Chinese characteristics, which are from Internet new words or culture-loaded words. The main problem of this translation practice is how to accurately translate words with Chinese characteristics into the target language and make the translation readable while the cultural image of the source language is maintained. From the perspective of communicative translation theory, the translator defined and classified words with Chinese characteristics.According to different kinds of cultural equivalences, the translator adopted different translation methods, and then summarized four translation methods: literal translation, free translation, explanatory translation and amplification. In the progress of translation practice, the cultural images in words with Chinese characteristics should be remained and the cultural background of the source language should be conveyed as much as possible. The verve and meaning of the original text need to be reproduced to the greatest extent,so that the target language readers have the same emotional resonance as the source language readers. Thanks to these efforts, the Chinese culture will be widely spread in western countries.
