| At present,international communication is becoming more and more frequent,and China is in a critical period of curriculum reform.As an English learner,in order to cope with the current social communication situation,it is urgent to effectively enhance intercultural comprehensive competence and shoulder the important mission of international communication and national cultural dissemination.This study takes the freshmen of a science and engineering university as the research object,and uses the “critical incident technique(CIT)” to integrate ideological and political curriculum(IPC)into daily English teaching,so as to promote students’ IC improvement.The author borrows Deardorff’s pyramid model of IC and localizes it.With the goal of cultivating intercultural talents with rich cultural knowledge reserves,high intercultural practical competence,high sense of national identity and willingness to spread Chinese culture,the author constructs a development model of intercultural competence(IC),which includes: the individual-level IC from Deardorff’s pyramid model——positive attitude,knowledge and understanding,problem-solving ability,and on this basis,it concludes native land emotion.In this study,the pre-test and post-test of students’ IC are carried out by means of quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis.The quantitative results are mainly analyzed by SPSS24.0,and the qualitative results are mainly discussed by analyzing students’ views on intercultural training.The quantitative result shows that the localization of the model designed by the author is feasible,and the application of CIT effectively improves students’ IC,which is conducive to enhancing their positive attitude towards foreign cultures,increasing their knowledge reserves and opinions on multiculturalism and improving their problem-solving ability.The qualitative result shows that students are satisfied with this teaching method,and think that it can increase their understanding of Chinese culture and establish a cultural self-confidence mentality,which is good to cultivate modern intercultural talents with family-country collective consciousness.At the same time,the introduction of IPC in the development model of intercultural competence enriches the understanding of the connotations of IC and facilitates the acquisition of intercultural competence to a higher dimension.This study meets the requirements of promoting curriculum reform and national progress in today’s social and teaching environment,enriches the theoretical basis in the field of IC,and has practical guiding significance for the teaching goal of improving IC. |
