With the development of technology and the popularity of Internet technology, the harm brought to the organization by the new anti-productive behavior of employees "fishing" in the workplace can not be ignored, the previous research on network loafing is mainly discussed from two aspects: individual employee factors and organizational environmental factors, and less attention is paid to the leadership factors in the external environment. The leadership,as the link between members and the organization,is bound to have an impact on employees. The current external environment is ever-changing,and organizations need to ensure the stability of their operations with the help of various norms on the one hand, and try to break the rules and actively seek and face new development opportunities on the other.Leaders who are good at using a dual leadership mix-transformational and transactional leadership-may be more effective in this environment and reduce the cost to the organization of current employee network loafing behaviors. This study examines the influence of leadership style on employee cyberloafing and verifies the mediating role of leadership identity between the two.Study 1 investigated the relationship between leadership style and cyberloafing and the mediating role of leadership identity through a questionnaire survey of 405 current employees. The results found that dual leadership, transformational leadership, and transactional leadership all negatively influenced online loafing, and that leadership identity partially mediated the relationship. The effect of dual leadership on cyberloafing was better than that of single transactional leadership style, but there was no significant difference between it and single transformational leadership style.Study 2 used a situational experimental approach, manipulating dual leadership, single transformational leadership, single transactional leadership, and double low leadership,to examine the effects of different leadership styles on employee cyberloafing. The study of 186 participants found that leadership style negatively influenced cyberloafing, that leadership identity partially mediated the effect, and that dual leadership outperformed single transactional leadership style but did not outperform single transformational leadership style in its effect on cyberloafing intention. The findings suggest that a reasonable and good leadership style can indeed reduce employees’ cyberloafing behavior, and part of the impact is achieved by increasing employees’ leadership identity. The effect of dual leadership styles on employee cyberloafing is better than that of a single transactional leadership style, but not necessarily better than that of a single transformational leadership style. The results of this study suggest that organizations should pay attention to the cultivation and application of managers’ leadership styles in daily management, and select different leadership styles in appropriate contexts,so as to promote employees’ internal identification with their leaders, enhance their work enthusiasm and efficiency, reduce cyber loitering behavior in daily work, and bring more benefits to the company.
