A Study On The Evaluation Construction Of "Zui X Buguo NP"

The"zui(最)X buguo(不过)NP" format is widely used in new media communication.Its language form is simple and its semantics have certain rules.Through investigation and research,we identify it as an evaluation construct.After reviewing the literature,we find that there are few related studies on this construction by predecessors.Therefore,based on the integration of existing studies,this paper studies"zui X buguo NP" from the perspective of cognitive construction and evaluation.This paper is divided into five chapters:The first chapter is the introduction.The introduction part mainly introduces the research object "zui X buguo NP" and its related research status,and briefly introduces the construction theory and evaluation theory adopted in this paper.The second chapter is the construction identification and component analysis of "zui X buguo NP".We first identified the construction of "zui X buguo NP" and judged it to be an evaluation construction.Afterwards,we analyzed the components "zui","X","buguo" and "NP" one by one,focusing on the differences between the variables "X" and"NP" in terms of phonetics,semantics,and grammar.The third chapter is the semantic investigation of "zui X buguo NP".This chapter mainly investigates the constructional and expressive features of "zui X buguo NP".Based on Wang Yin’s construction program analysis method and the figure-background"theory,we abstractly summarized the construction meaning of "zui X buguo NP"——The speaker’s subjective maximum evaluation of the most representative "NP" in the multi-individual capacity of "zui X".We use AntConc software to analyze the semantic prosody of this construction,and think that the semantics of this construction has the characteristics of extremity,subjectivity and positivity.The fourth chapter is the functional investigation of "zui X buguo NP".This chapter mainly analyzes the subjective evaluation function and focus highlighting function of the construction.Firstly,the evaluation function of the construction is explored by using the attitude system in Martin’s evaluation system theory,and it is believed that the construction can express judgment,appreciation and affect.Secondly,through quantitative comparison,we analyze the focal highlighting mode of the construction in the presence and absence of contrast items.The fifth chapter is the solidification process and formation mechanism of "zui X buguo NP".This chapter clarifies the evolution process of the construction from a diachronic perspective based on language facts,and discusses the formation mechanism of the construction from three aspects:language memes,prosodic requirements,and frequency effects.
