In animated works, the presence of visual tension in the images is one of the determining factors of the success or failure of the work.It can increase the expressive power of the images, make the visual style more vivid, and thus enhance the overall quality of the work. With the improvement of animation production technology, people’s demand for artistic stylization and visual tension in the images has become increasingly strong, and pure 3D animation is no longer able to meet people’s aesthetic needs.2D animation, although able to express visual tension in the images well,is flat in style and cannot bring new visual experiences.3D rendering in a 2D style is a visual representation form that is in between pure3 D animation and 2D animation. The visual tension presented in the images of 3D rendering in a 2D style is an important component of contemporary 3D animation visual effects, and it is of great significance to the viewing experience of 3D animation works. This paper provides an objective and reasonable evaluation of the expression and visual experience of visual tension in three-dimensional rendering of two-dimensional animation styles. It analyzes and summarizes the importance of visual tension for animation from five perspectives. The first part explores the essence of visual tension, describing its concept and the features it presents as a form of visual expression, and outlining the research value and significance of visual tension at both theoretical and practical levels. The second part analyzes the formal expression of visual tension in contemporary animation works, comparing and analyzing the visual tension presented in two-dimensional animation, pure three-dimensional animation, and three-dimensional rendering of two-dimensional animation styles, elaborating on the relationship between the three and highlighting the advantages of expressing visual tension in three-dimensional rendering of two-dimensional animation,in order to enhance a deeper understanding of this style and visual tension. The third part examines the expression of visual tension in different three-dimensional rendering of two-dimensional animation styles, studying the expression of visual tension in excellent three-dimensional rendering of two-dimensional animation works from three different countries: researching the lighting and hand-drawn effects in the American animation work "League of Legends: Arcane" studying the motion shots and partial deformation in the Japanese animation work "Land of the Lustrous," and comparing the composition and atmosphere creation in the Chinese animation work "Fantasy Mountain and Sea Ballad".The different ways of expressing visual tension are summarized, and an objective and reasonable evaluation is given for the visual effects of the three animation works. The fourth part explains that the continuous development of three-dimensional rendering of two-dimensional animation is a reflection of the animation industry’s increasing emphasis on expressing visual tension, and through the enhancement of details design and filming techniques, visual tension in three-dimensional rendering of two-dimensional animation can be better expressed. The fifth part combines theoretical and practical aspects by creating a three-dimensional animation in a two-dimensional animation style for the graduation project, and experiencing the importance of visual tension in animation works through practice. Finally, the conclusion proposes the integration of traditional Chinese cultural elements with three-dimensional rendering of two-dimensional animation to promote the continuous development of China’s animation industry and create significant artistic and commercial value. |
