The poetry collection Goddess broke through the shackles of the old pattern and completed the transformation of the May Fourth New Literature from ancient Chinese poetry to modern vernacular poetry with its vigorous and bold free poetic style and extreme personal spiritual expansion,which made the vernacular poetry creation in this period have a relatively mature case for the first time,and was recognized as the foundation work of modern vernacular poetry in China with its ideological and mature artistic norms.This paper takes Guo Moruo’s representative poetry collection Goddess as the research object,focuses on the important connection between Guo Moruo’s early scientific activities and literary creation of the same period,and focuses on the integration of modern scientific consciousness and modern literary creation reflected in Goddess poems.Using the research method of close reading of texts and historical data as the main method,this paper tries to bring forth the old in the voluminous Goddess studies,and tries to explore the innovation and contribution of the Goddess in the theme,artistic expression and aesthetic features of poetry under the background of the modern scientific context of the May Fourth Movement.Combined with the scientific educational background fully accepted by the poet at a young age and a series of scientific activities,as well as the unprecedented and rapid development of modern western science in the world during this period,the Goddess of poetry naturally manifested itself both in the external expression of writing techniques,structural features,and internal spiritual aspects such as juche thought.Because of the scientific world view held by the poet and the intervention of modern western scientific thoughts in modern Chinese literature,it is different from ancient Chinese poetry.With the intervention of scientific concepts,the poetry of Goddess has a broader expression connotation than traditional Chinese poetry.Based on the pantheistic view of nature worshipped by poets at the same time,the poetry harmoniously integrates into the knowledge system of natural sciences such as astronomy,biology,pathology,geography,geology and medicine."Copernicus,the demon of the solar system,from the path of the Scriptures!" The modern view of the universe represented by Copernicus solar system had a certain influence on the poet Guo Moruo,which made the poem Goddess different from the traditional Chinese world view of "round heaven and earth",and expanded the object of description to the rational review of the universe."Man originally evolved from ape man","the whole interior of the universe is a constant struggle,and the track of the struggle is evolution.Our life is based on the operation of the universe to promote the evolution of human beings ".The modern biology theory represented by "evolution theory" had a certain positive influence on the poet’s thinking on human individuality.As a medical student,the poet demonstrated a series of descriptions of pathology,anatomy and physiology on the basis of modern medicine,which expanded the scope of expression of the poem Goddess.At the same time,Guo Moruo had the opportunity to personally participate in Einstein’s lectures when he was studying in Kyushu Imperial University.The advanced thought of "relativity" provided certain enlightenment for the poem Goddess to extend his creative vision to the abstract microcosmic world.The "energy" writing and the spirit of "movement and resistance" contained in the poem Goddess formed an important part of the new aesthetic characteristics of the poem Goddess.At the same time,the development of modern Western science and western industrial society also enabled the poet Guo Moruo to open up a brand new series of scientific images in Goddess,which expanded the new field of expression of modern vernacular poetry,and had obvious pioneering significance in the creation of vernacular poetry in the later period.The modern scientific context has laid a certain foundation for poets to go beyond the scope of traditional poetry writing and constitute the brand-new aesthetic characteristics and artistic expression of the poetry collection Goddess,among which the more prominent ones are the "universe writing","physiological writing","energy writing" and "earth concern" in the poetry collection Goddess.In the poetry collection Goddess,the poetic paradigm of writing about the universe is developed on the basis of poet Guo Moruo’s inheritance and transcendence of the description of the universe in ancient China in the context of science.The Copernican solar system represented by modern astronomy and other cosmological concepts,which enabled the poets to transcend the simple Chinese world view in ancient China while inherits the literary tradition of expressing personal feelings and philosophical speculation by writing about the universe in ancient poetry.Thus,it created the paradigm of cosmic writing in the Goddess of Chinese poetry collection,and expanded the whole writing of the origin,existence of the universe,connection of space and time,and composition of matter within the poetry norms,presenting a new look beyond the ancient Chinese poetry.The energy writing in the poem Goddess also surruns the creative tendency of modern poets such as Huang Zunxian who take energy writing and energy image as serving the old theme.The energy theory represented by Einstein’s relativity in the context of modern science has provided certain enlightenment for the poet Guo Moruo,thus making him create a unique aesthetic paradigm of energy writing in the poem Goddess.Integrate the harmony into the theme of "movement and resistance" and create a brand new aesthetic path in the writing of modern Chinese vernacular poetry.The formation of the poetry paradigm of physiological writing in the poetry collection Goddess is related to the direct influence of modern medicine on poet Guo Moruo’s literary and artistic ideas.Poet Guo Moruo’s medical background has made him think about his literary and artistic creation from various perspectives,such as literary and artistic view and typical theory.Finally,in the context of modern science,with the further spread and influence of modern biological and psychological theories represented by Darwinian evolution and Freudian psychoanalysis,the poetry paradigm of physiological writing was formed,and the exploration of individual subjectivity under the common name of the May Fourth New literary personality liberation era was further advanced.Under the influence of advanced theories of modern geology,geography,astronomy and so on,the Earth concern of the poem Goddess goes further beyond the Chinese world view of "the heaven is round and the earth is round" in ancient Chinese poetry,and describes and writes the whole earth,material and spiritual civilization,revealing a strong spirit of patriotism.The mature poetic norms show the poet’s more scientific and rational systematic cognition of the whole earth as the object of writing.In general,the above four unique writing paradigms created by the Goddess of poetry are related to the formation and dissemination of various advanced theories in the context of modern science,which are the four important aspects of the re-interpretation of the Goddess of poetry in the context of science.Therefore,this paper focuses on the unique theme and aesthetic characteristics of the poem Goddess in the context of modern science.The first chapter focuses on the direct influence of the poet Guo Moruo from modern Western science in the context of the May Fourth Movement of Science,which lays a certain historical basis for the re-interpretation of the poem Goddess in the context of the later four chapters.The first chapter takes the poems such as "Heavenly Dog","Phoenix Song" and "Heavenly Man" as examples.On the basis of full comparison with the ancient Chinese poems of the same type,it excavates the unique aesthetic connotation and artistic characteristics contained in the cosmic writing paradigm of the poetry collection "Goddess" by using the research method of text reading.Among them,the destruction of the universe,the inquiry of the universe,and other types of cosmic writing are important representatives.The second chapter takes Preface Poetry,Rebirth of Goddess,Heart Lamp and other poems as examples.On the basis of full comparison with the ancient Chinese poems of the same type,it analyzes the poetry paradigm of energy writing in Goddess,focusing on explosion writing,industrial writing,and other types of energy writing.The third chapter takes the poems "The Dog of Heaven","Walking Ten Li Songyuan at Night","Concert" and other poems as examples.On the basis of discussing the influence of modern medicine on poets’ literary and artistic ideas,the author explores the poet Guo Moruo’s great attention to physiological processes such as "trembling","death","dream" and"subconscious" in the physiological writing paradigm of the poem "Goddess".The fourth chapter with "Standing on the edge of the earth","Earth,my mother! In contrast with the Chinese world view written in ancient Chinese poetry represented by "the round heaven and the round earth",the author excavates the unique poetic themes and aesthetic paradigms such as the whole earth,civilization writing and patriotic spirit under the earth’s concern in Goddess.Of course,the modern scientific thoughts accepted by the poet in the scientific context are not the core of the creation of the poem Goddess.However,there is no doubt that the scientific context during the writing period of the poem Goddess has an important influence on Guo Moruo’s poetry creation,which makes the poem Goddess reflect its unique theme and aesthetic characteristics.Guo Moruo always adhered to his idea of "sucking the sweet milk of pure science" in his creation,and formed brand-new artistic norms in the background of creation in the scientific context.With his unique cosmic writing,energy writing,physiological writing and earth concern,Guo Moruo provided a brand-new writing paradigm for modern vernacular poetry.
