On The Light And Shadow Expression Of Zong Qixiang’s Night Landscape Painting

Zong Qixiang was one of the practitioners of reform and innovation in Chinese painting in the middle of the 20 th century.Xu Beihong once praised Zong Qixiang’s night landscape painting,which contains rich light and shadow effects in the brush and ink.It changed the expression method of traditional night landscape painting of predecessors,which is a great pioneering work in the history of Chinese landscape painting.In his artistic career,night landscape painting has a unique path,a unique aspect,on the basis of the original traditional brush and ink,into the western composition and light and shadow performance,quietly cultivated ink cultivation into a unique pen and ink language.This paper will focus on the light and shadow performance of the night landscape painting.Firstly,the creation process of Zongqi’s fragrant night landscape painting under the background of The Times is described.Secondly,it analyzes Zong Qixiang’s works before and after,and summarizes the exploration and practice process of light and shadow in his nightscape landscape painting,as well as the influence and significance of the emergence of Zong Qixiang’s nightscape landscape painting on contemporary painting.Finally,it will focus on the light and shadow expression in Zong Qixiang’s night landscape painting,and discuss the inspiration of the author’s graduation creation of "Wind Qing Yuebai".
