Seeking And Returning: A Study On The Construction Of The Image Of Wonderers In Documentaries

The documentary is a social record that reflects reality.Throughout the documentary creation,there is a diversified picture in content and form,and characters are always the core of documentary attention.With the process of modernization,the group of vagrants needs to be paid attention to by the society.The documentary objectively records the group of vagrants through the lens to arouse people ’s reflection on the fate and situation of vagrants.Based on the theory of documentary creation,this paper explores the relevant issues involved in such films by taking the personal graduation work ’ How old are you this year ’ as the text.At present,there is still much room for research on the image of vagrants,so the author believes that the image of vagrants has certain research significance.This paper studies the image construction of vagrants in documentaries through three chapters.The first chapter starts from the trauma narrative,and traces the root of the characters ’ wandering through the individual trauma,family trauma and trauma healing in the trauma narrative.Analyze the wandering consciousness generated by the vagrant in the trough state,the identity vagrancy under the absence of emotion,and the spiritual vagrancy under the emotional connection.The second chapter starts from the spatial narrative,and analyzes the wandering identity characteristics of the protagonist through the three aspects of physical space,spiritual space and communication space presented in the work.Around the rural space and street space presented in the documentary,the image of the free man,the image of the real space and the spiritual space are constructed,and the identity of the performer is presented in the physical space and the virtual space.In the third chapter,starting from the symbolic narrative,the work discusses the wandering value of the characters through the three levels of character symbols,physical symbols and auditory symbols with the help of image-based techniques.It aims to convey the growth value of character identity transformation,the ideal value of metaphorical wandering state and the value of emotional resonance.On this basis,the author reflects on the shortcomings of his works,in order to provide useful experience for the creation of documentaries on the theme of vagrants.
