The Research Of Cantonese Phonetics In Langnan Town,Tengxian,Guangxi

Langnan Town is a small town in the southeast of Tengxian County,Guangxi,geographically located at the junction of Wuzhou and Tengxian County.Therefore,in terms of language,Langnan Town Cantonese not only retains the typical phonetic characteristics of Goulou Cantonese,but also is influenced by Guangfu Cantonese,forming unique phonetic characteristics.For example,the ancient voiced initials are basically not aspirated when they read stops and affricate consonant.From the existing research results of Cantonese in Tengxian County,the study of Cantonese in Langnan Town is still in a blank stage.This thesis takes the leaked Cantonese from Langnan Town,Tengxian County,Wuzhou City,Guangxi Province as the research object,and takes the first-hand phonetic materials obtained through field investigations as the core.Based on reading relevant literature,it comprehensively describes the phonetic system of Cantonese in Langnan Town.Then,using diachronic and synchronic comparative methods,a comparative study is conducted between Langnan Town Cantonese and other Cantonese languages,revealing the phonetic characteristics of Langnan Town Cantonese.Finally,a special study was conducted on the phonetic characteristics of Cantonese in Langnan Town,further understanding the unique phonetic phenomena such as implosion in Langnan Town Cantonese.The full text is divided into six parts.The introduction mainly introduces the cultural geography and history of Langnan Town,the current status of dialect research,the research purpose,significance,methods,and material sources of this article.The first chapter describes the phonetic system of the Cantonese language in Langnan Town,systematically describing its initials,finals,and tones,as well as the tone and tone sandhi of two character groups,and organizing a table of tone and tone coordination and a list of homophonic words.Through investigation,we found that there are a total of 23 initials,75 finals,and 9 tones in Cantonese in Langnan Town.There is a significant phenomenon of tone sandhi in the disyllabic words of Cantonese in Langnan Town.The pattern of tone sandhi generally manifests as the first character changing to the second character remaining unchanged,and the tone of the first character changing from high to low.Chapter 2 analyzes the medieval origins of Langnan Town Cantonese from a diachronic perspective,lists the current pronunciation of initials,finals,and tones,and summarizes the phonetic characteristics of Langnan Town Cantonese.In the Cantonese of Langnan Town,the ancient voiced initials are pure,and those who pronounce plosives and affricate consonant today can’t pronounce aspirated voiceless,regardless of the tone;The confluence of Jingmu(精母)and Dingmu(定母);Zhimu(知母),Zhuangmu(庄母),and Zhangmu(章母)Combination Flow;Nasal final[m n ?]Corresponds neatly with the plosive ending[p t k].Chapter 3,from a synchronic perspective,compares the four Cantonese dialects of Nanning,Mengjiang,Wuzhou,and Guangzhou with the Cantonese dialect of Langnan Town,in order to further understand the phonetic characteristics of Langnan Town Cantonese.We found that the Cantonese language in Langnan Town has the closest relationship with that in Mengjiang Town,and is greatly influenced by the Cantonese language in the Guangfu area.The fourth chapter is a special research topic,mainly exploring the current pronunciation of implosion and voiced consonants in Langnan Town Cantonese,as well as the evolution of the vowel chain shift of Xieshe(蟹摄).The Inner Explosion of Cantonese in Langnan Town[b d]It mainly comes from ancient Bangmu(帮母),Pangmu(滂母),Bingmu(并母),Duanmu(端母),and Dingmu(定母),and its formation is likely related to language contact.The ancient voiced initial consonant of Cantonese in Langnan Town today reads plosive and affricate consonant without breath,which may be derived from the voiceless without breath.The Xieshe(蟹摄)vowel chain shift of Cantonese in Langnan Town began with the elevation of Yidengzi(一等字).The conclusion summarizes the entire text,points out the shortcomings of this paper’s research,and clarifies the direction of future efforts.
