| Wang Guowei is an outstanding critic of Ci poetry, and also an extremely important member of Ci poets in the late Qing Dynasty. In order to further highlight the artistic value of Wang Guowei’s Ci and further elucidate the pursuit of Wang Guowei’s Ci,this paper cuts in from a new research angle, takes the allusions of Wang Guowei’s Ci as the research object, starts from the text, and analyzes Wang Guowei’s Ci by means of statistical analysis.A more comprehensive and systematic research is carried out on the allusions of Wang Guowei’s Ci.Among Wang Guowei’s 115 existing Ci,161 allusions are used, with an average of 1.4 times per Ci.Among these allusions, the most allusions come from Ji,which is exactly the same as Wang Guowei’s reading situation and reading tendencies. The allusions of Wang Guowei’s Ci show three obvious features. One is that the sources are extensive, covering Jing,Shi,Zi,Ji,and involving many bibliographies. The second is to mainly use Shi and Ci sentences, with Tang poetry being the most common, followed by Five Dynasties and Northern Song poetry, and this is precisely the embodiment of his literary concept of "every generation has its own literature" by taking Tang poetry and Song Ci as representatives of a generation of literature. The third is the repeated quotation of the same allusion.Needless to say, some of Wang Guowei’s Ci do have deficiencies in repeated chanting in content, and even the use of some allusions is a bit procrastinated and not concise enough. The repeated citation of the same allusion is one of the reasons for the repetition of the content of his Ci.In terms of the types of allusions, the most allusions used in Wang Guowei’s Ci are Yudian, followed by Shidian and Mingdian. In the Yudian,Du Fu’s poems are mainly used, followed by Li Shangyin’s poems, and finally the Ci sentences of the Five Dynasties and Song Dynasties. In the Shidian, the allusions from the Jing are the least, only 1 time. Most of the Shiidan in Shi are from the Shiji, and these allusions mainly express Wang Guowei’s thinking about the reality of life and his strange and dreamy imagination. The subject matter types of the Shidian in Zi are relatively concentrated, mainly gods, myths and legends.Among the Shidian in Ji,Su Shi’s works are the most, followed by Du Fu’s works. There are not many Mingidan in Wang Guowei’s Ci,but the Mingdian is of various types, including historical place names, palace names, and fairyland names and so on.From allusions of Wang Guowei’s Ci,we can also see his pursuit of Ci.Wang Guowei pursues the charm of ancient elegance in the creation of Ci,which is reflected in his preference for ancient characters and original characters when writing Ci.Whether it is the use of the Ci sentences of the poets he admires,or the use of the Ci sentences of the poets he criticizes,it can be seen that Wang Guowei strives for new ideas in the creation of Ci,surpassing the pursuit of predecessors.Although Wang Guowei said that Shi and Ci should "not use allusions",he did not completely oppose the use of allusions, but believed that when use allusions to write Ci,one should first have his own realm, and then use the realm of the ancients to express his own realm.Although Wang Guowei once said that the quality of Ci works should not be distinguished by the size of their realm, but judging from the use of allusions, what he likes and pursues should be those Ci works, expressing philosophical thoughts about life and the world. That is,the work of "Big Realm". |
