A Study Of Yelu Chucai’s Social Poems

Yelu Chucai,the poet of the Yuan Dynasty,has 691 poems,including 575 social poems,which are full of ideological and artistic quality.This paper takes this as the research object,combined with his social activities and official experience,conducts the comprehensive analysis and discussion of his social poems.This paper is divided into seven parts.The introduction part discusses the significance of the topic and the research status,and clarifies the research methods and ideas.The first part of the text is a comprehensive examination of Yelu Chucai’s social circle.Yelu Chucai had extensive contacts with many Confucian scholars,monks and Taoists,and expressed his contradictory choice between official advancement and retirement in his poems.The second part expounds the narration of friendship.In his poems,Yelu Chucai often expresses his concern for his friend’s life,appreciation for their political ability and encouragement for their studies.At the same time,it is also a way for them to give spiritual comfort to each other.The third part analyzes the writing of geographical space.The poems show the cultural landscape of the Central Plains,the scenery and folk customs of the northern grassland,the local conditions and conditions of the Western regions,and greatly expand the geographical boundary of literature.The fourth part studies the poetics thought reflected in the poems.Yelu Chucai inherited the Confucian concept of Wen Qi theory,Wen Zhi theory and other traditional concepts,respected the heroic spirit,advocated the importance of literary quality.He also advocated the ancient worship,formed a unique literary thought.The fifth part discusses the artistic characteristics of social poems.This paper analyzes the multi-level dialogue art from daily communication to thought communication,the skills of using Zen language and creating Zen environment,and the fresh and magnificent creative style.The conclusion part summarizes the main conclusions of the whole text.
